Cor blog me!: A Wargamer in Melbourne
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-wargamer-in-melbourne.html
Sunday, July 12, 2015. A Wargamer in Melbourne. I spent last week in Melbourne with my family, and managed to see the very good WW1 exhibition at the Melbourne Museum. Here are a few photos from the exhibition. A selection of melee weapons and helmets. A piece of the Red Baron's plane. Original scale models of ships painted to test the various dazzle camouflage schemes. Posted by captain arjun. Great photos, the German helmet in the pic looks to have suffered some damage! Cor blog me!: February 2015
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. At least one of the pieces had the tip of the quarrel on the bow piece, and the shaft on the stock, and one had the hand on the bow piece! And the thing is, everything fits together so well, I bet you can't tell which figure had which combination. The pavises are from the Perry WOTR European mercenaries box set. Here are the figures shown separately. About half of them must have played Skyrim, because they are wearing some form of knee armour. Posted by captain arjun. I wante...

Cor blog me!: August 2015
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2015. Chain of Command: Arnhem Game 1. Martin and I finally kicked off the first game of our Arnhem campaign. More models are ordered and on their way, but we had enough to play the first scenario. The Paras enter from the left side of the table, and must move at least one unit off the opposite edge. This was admittedly a difficult scenario for Martin, as I held the half of the table with the cover. The first section of Paras creep tactically along the hedge. That said I did not choose...

Cor blog me!: May 2015
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. PSC 1/72 Panzer IV. When I bought the PSC StuG, I reckoned I might as well save on postage and get a tank I don't already have, and so I got myself a workhorse of the German army: the Panzer IV. Once again, this was an easy kit to build, and the details are good. The tracks halves didn't quite meet once all the primer and paint were applied though, but I was too lazy to remedy that today. I still have decals for Panthers and Hanomags, so maybe I will be getting those models too.

Cor blog me!: Warriors of Rohan unit 1
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2015/07/warriors-of-rohan-unit-1.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Warriors of Rohan unit 1. We have had the Warriors of Rohan figures for years - I say "we" because I can't remember who these figures belong to; I know for a fact I did not buy them, so they are either from wahj or fg, and were passed to me as part of some gaming plans we must have had many years ago. Anyway, after our last Strandhogg game. Over the next few weeks I hope to paint up the remaining warbands, after which a couple other new projects will await my attention.

Cor blog me!: September 2014
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 21, 2014. Chain of Command Campaign: Normandy Game 1. Martin and I played the first game of our projected 4-game campaign this afternoon. I set the campaign against Operation Bluecoat, but we did not use historical units or maps for our narrative. The opening game is set a few days before the launch of the operation, when the British are probing for weakness in the German defences. Martin sends all three squads onto the table while I could only deploy one. I attempted to push the Britis...

Cor blog me!: Dungeon Crawl Game 4
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2015/07/dungeon-crawl-game-4.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. Dungeon Crawl Game 4. Fg and I played the fourth game in the Dungeoncrawl campaign on Sunday. Acting on the information from the lich and the villagers, the party decided to mount a raid on the goblin's lair to try to recover the phylactery. A couple of doughty villagers join the party in the dangerous quest. The party attempt to set up a perimeter around the fleet-footed Halfling while he grabs the treasure tokens. Cor blog me!: October 2014
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 22, 2014. I think I've developed a bit of a Skaven addiction. This is the third horde I have refurbished for Thomas and fg - I buy half-painted units off ebay, make up enough for a horde, touch them up, make a unit filler if required, and a custom movement tray, and we have a horde ready for the table. Closer view showing the command figures. I like the way the previous owner did the standard. Close-up of the unit filler. Rear view showing the interior of the sewer and a giant rat.

Cor blog me!: March 2015
http://corblogme.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Let's find out what's behind Door Number 2! Fg and I played the first two games of an Imperial Assault campaign last night. The game is apparently descended from Descent (which I have always thought sounded like a horror-themed game) and if the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I think I might give the latter a try too. Fg has replaced some of the figures with prepainted ones from the Star Wars miniatures game, which does improve the visual appeal. Posted by captain arjun.
