(Moody coz I had to get up before dawn and thoughtful coz I'm trying to work out how I can get back to bed without Cap'n Bob noticing). Charlotte, Marika and Clarence taking in the Corinth Canal. Note the enormous ferry ahead of us, nearly touching the walls of the canal.

After spending far too long in Nairobi (mostly updating my website for the first time in 4 months), I eventually made my way to Pemba, also known as Scuba heaven. Most of my diving in Pemba was from Misali island, which as you can see is pretty nice, even above the water. A very arty shot of a very pretty starfish. (when you only get half of it in the frame, that counts as arty). A Lion fish - Grrrrrr. A scorpion fish (I think). The flash picks out the red, but it's much harder to see under water.

Rwanda used to be a Belgian colony so I got to eat some nice French food and practice my French. I went to see 2 holocaust memorials, both of them churches in which Tutsi's had sought refuge (unsuccessfully). As you can see, these memorials are pretty graphic and have been left largely as they were after the horribly events that took place there. It was worth it though, just to be scared witless by being so close to an enormous silverback (too scared to take a photo, ;). Aaaah, a baby one :).

Mount Olympus - Thursday 12th - Saturday 14th August 2004. These Photos are from the Friday that I hiked to the top of Mount Olympus (which consists of a number of peaks all at about 2900m). I didn't realise that it was Friday 13th until I was signing the 'guest book' at the top. On the way up with the peak in the background. On Scala, looking across to Mitikas (the highest peak) and the scary climb up. If you look closely at the peak behind you can see the trig point at the top (on the right).
