Tuesday, March 03, 2009. Pt Pinos Light, Pacific Grove CA. We went to the Monterey/Carmel area on Thanksgiving Weekend 2008. It was a windy, but clear day when we visited the Pt. Pinos Lighthouse. We got there too late in the afternoon to go inside, but the sunset light was perfect for pictures outside. Built in 1855, this is the oldest operational lighthouse in the Western United States.
