Brighton Murals: Max and Sam
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2014/01/max-and-sam.html
Thursday, January 2, 2014. A co-worker of mine asked me to paint Gary Squares of her kids last summer. I got them started right away, but life always seems to get too busy and this project quickly fell to the back burner. As part of a New Year's Resolution I made to dedicate more time to art and personal improvement I decided to spend part of my day off of work yesterday finishing them up. I gave them to my co-worker today and she seemed thrilled with the final result. That makes me happy. Awesome Inc...

Brighton Murals: Christmas Kitties
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2013/12/christmas-kitties.html
Wednesday, December 25, 2013. A few years ago I drew these. Portraits of our cats as a Christmas present for Kristin, but since we've added 3 new cats to our household the set was now incomplete. This was her Christmas present this year. Mo (the tabby), and Trouble (the white cat) are best friends. They like to sleep in a little kitty pile and lick each other Hellie (the black and white cat) is more of a loner, but she was my Mom's oldest and favorite cat. Posted by Lisa and Kristin. Brighton Murals: October 2014
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. These are the Back to School shoes that I painted for my nephew who picked out his own shoes online this year, but when they came in the mail he decided he didn't like the color and, since they were non returnable, he asked if I could "just paint them black." Nope. I couldn't :). If you don't recognize the design, it's based on the book series Michael Vey. By Richard Paul Evans. You can learn more about it here. To paint the shoes I first took this before picture :).

http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2014/12/harry-potter-shoes.html
Thursday, December 25, 2014. I painted these shoes for my Dad for Christmas (at his request, otherwise it never would have occurred to me to give him such a random gift). I know I took some before pictures of the shoes as well, but I couldn't find them, here are a few during pictures and all angles of the finished product. Posted by Lisa and Kristin. Brighton Murals: October 2013
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 31, 2013. I decided that I would try again to muster up some Halloween spirit by painting a fun, festive image on our front window. Last year's window. Introduced the world to the addition of our 3 new family members and I thought it was fun, so I decided to keep up the tradition by painting our 6 cats out playing in the pumpkin patch. No people got represented this year, but let's face it, our lives are all about the cats anyway, so this is still pretty accurate :). If you look close y...

Brighton Murals: Superman Bedroom
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2012/07/superman-bedroom.html
Sunday, July 1, 2012. This is my nephew's bedroom. Even though painting the windows on all those buildings was incredibly boring, this is my favorite mural to date. I've had a life long crush on Superman and I've always wanted to have a superman room in my house. I love how this turned out! I keep joking that one of these days I'm going to paint an addition on the opposite wall of Lois Lane hanging from the top of a building in distress. If I ever actually do it, I'll be sure to post pictures.

Brighton Murals: Happy Graduation
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2013/05/ive-had-so-much-positive-feedback-from.html
Monday, May 13, 2013. I've had so much positive feedback from the painting I did of my mother. Last year that I've been anxious to try it again. I decided to try it with the photo on a graduation announcement that I received in the mail from one my friends of her son. Here is the end result:. Happy Graduation" 12"x12" acrylic on canvas. The original graduation invitation:. Maybe I'll make that my goal too. Two down, 98 to go :). Posted by Lisa and Kristin. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Brighton Murals: Merry Christmas Charlie Brown!
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2014/12/merry-christmas-charlie-brown.html
Thursday, December 4, 2014. Merry Christmas Charlie Brown! This year for Christmas I got a new job at the School District (actually I started back in September, but whatever)! Good thing I'm here now :). Here is the first official entry of the Superintendent's Office EVER! This is all made from cut paper that I layered and glued together. That is my new desk in the center. Here is one final, although misleading view. This is with the main doors shut so the characters that appear in the hallway are du...

Brighton Murals: July 2013
http://brightonmurals.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 26, 2013. I was inspired by this drawing by M.C. Escher to create an image where I was painting myself. MC Escher is one of my all time favorite artists and I had a poster of this picture hanging in my room when I was a kid. His art is so magical and thought provoking. I could spend hours looking at it. It is so mesmerizing. I LOVE IT! They are amazing works of art created by talented artist, Rebecca Collins. As an animal lover (and multiple pet owner) I can appreciate the desire to have...
