RESULTS and RECORDS ARCHIVE. Racewalking Australia Carnival Results. For many years, Racewalking Australia only conducted two carnivals each year. The annual Lake Burley Griffin Carnival was held each June in Canberra, the capital of Australia. This carnival is still held and remains the main event for the Racewalking Australia with a strong team emphasis. The Amateur Walking Union of Australia was formed in 1923 to represent the interests of the the walking clubs from NSW, Victoria, SA and Queensland. This first body served the walking community of Australia well over the next 30 years and was the forerunner to what we now call Racewalking Australia.
