But companies that delivers such services sometimes fails protecting their users privacy. The point is, that user doesn’t have any control over confidentiality of his private conversations – the service provider does it. What, if B loose his key, used to secure a long history of conversations? The message is signed by A, so there is a proof he wrote it.

However, when every single component that uses HTTP have to deal with the same issues, there must be some mess left. As usual, the small issue resulted in a large code refactoring. I had the task of fixing regression bugs from Pidgin 2.x.y, so I took care of broken remote smileys.
