Watching the Game

Monday, June 13, 2011. Watched: Kansas City Royals vs. Anaheim Angels. As I mentioned in my last post, I am trying to avoid the media-made narratives and just watch sports while creating the narratives for myself. So far it has been kind of nice watching games without the announcers mindless drivel (although I do find myself to be more easily distracted from the game when I watch without sound). Had to make a couple of nice plays at first to save an error for Moustakas. In the middle of the Royals lineup.

Watching the Game: Watched: Stephen Strasburg

http://watchingthegame.blogspot.com/2010/06/watched-stephen-strasburg.html

Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Well, probably every baseball blogger watched Strasburg's first start and is writing something about it. I guess it is a good enough story to bring me out of hibernation. And then he showed that he was mortal, giving up a two run homer in the fourth. But he settled back in and destroyed the Pirates lineup for the next three innings, striking out seven in a row at one point and finishing with fourteen strikeouts. Posted by J.R. Granger. Watching the Game: July 2009

http://watchingthegame.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Jack Wilson Questions the Pirates Front Office. I am not really writing to defend the Pirates front office. They've put together some really terrible teams over the last few years. But Jack Wilson's quotes. Really struck me as funny:. I've been here nine years. I've seen two or three of these trades every year and still haven't had a winning season.". Um, well, Jack, if you want to experience a winning season, maybe you could - I don't know -. Watching the Game: December 2008

http://watchingthegame.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Rickey and the Hall. I am coming out of my offseason seclusion to write a little about Rickey Henderson. The first baseball season I remember is 1981, although I have some vague memories of a pack of 1980 baseball cards. Anyway, my formative baseball years were the 1980's and my favorite player (non-Cardinals division) was Rickey Henderson. He is eligible this year for the Hall of Fame for the first time and he is a no-doubter*. His acceptance speech should be one of the gre...

His Eye is on the Finches | My life with the Lord in Washington

His Eye is on the Finches. My life with the Lord in Washington. Who is Penny Finch? July 17, 2014. The lookout point in Prosser, WA. Watching the Flowers Grow

Watching the Flowers Grow. And praying the weeds don't overtake us. Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Mom, you never get the chance to be sick.". No one ever asks how you're feeling. They don't seem very concerned that you have Lyme, too.". They do, but I try to keep the focus on her. I realized very quickly that my Lyme infection is a gift. Learning through experience is the most complete way to learn. If I didn't have Lyme I would not understand half of what she's going through. Arms filled with lead tiredness.
