Sandy Maudlin: FIREWORKS, PART ONE
http://sandymaudlin.blogspot.com/2012/07/fireworks-part-one.html
FIREWORKS, PART ONE. Watching fireworks is lots easier than painting them. This is my first attempt, using fluid acrylics on Yupo. The real show was spectacular overlooking Lake Wawasee. The next painting will be considerably larger. This was a trial run, and my hope is to capture that intense, breathtaking, spectacular display of light, texture, and color without making a garish painting. Fluid Acrylics on Yupo 5 x 7". I can almost hear the oohhhs and aahhhhs. Cant wait to see a larger version. This two...

Sandy Maudlin: WORKSHOP WASH
http://sandymaudlin.blogspot.com/2012/11/workshop-wash.html
Painted on Yupo with fluid acrylics, this painting shows wash day in Le Vieux Couvent in France. Lisa, Leslie, and Paula headed back to the studio to paint as soon as the laundry was hung to dry. Next September we will be painting on Yupo, also known as Lana Vanguard in Europe, for the eleven days we are in Frayssinet. Sooo many possibilites and creative adventures abound when we paint on Yupo! For more workshop info, please contact Sandy. Fluid Acrylics on Yupo 19 x 19". Hi, Sandy,. Have a good time.

Sandy Maudlin: WINTER REDS
http://sandymaudlin.blogspot.com/2013/01/winter-reds.html
A light dusting of snow on the ground looks so beautiful this time of year. So far, it's been a decently mild winter with a bit of a recent cold snap. The birds love eating at the feeders, and seeing them from my studio is a joy. Here's one of the cardinals, painted on hot pressed Arches, 140#, with watercolor. Transparent Watercolor on 140#HP Arches 10x15". January 26, 2013 at 4:05 PM. Thanks Patty and Vicki. January 26, 2013 at 7:37 PM. January 29, 2013 at 6:35 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sandy Maudlin: NEW PAPER
http://sandymaudlin.blogspot.com/2012/08/painting-on-new-surface-is-always.html
Painting on a new surface is always exciting and challenging, and the last time I painted on Indian paper was about twenty years ago. This paper, Punjab, comes in a beautiful, handmade book, sold at Daniel Smith in Seattle. I loved the paper! This little sketch book will be going to Frayssinet, France with me very soon where, hopefully, it will be filled with paintings of the beautiful French countryside. Thanks, Linda, for the great sketch book! Watercolor on 140# Rough Punjab Paper 4 x 7". Meera, its c...

The Paint Brush: Mundane Beauty !
http://riakrishnanpaintings.blogspot.com/2013/11/mundane-beauty.html
Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Harvest Moon" 22x28 oil on canvas. I knew right then, that I was going to paint this. It's just amazing how light can change the look of a scene so drastically and make mundane things look so spectacular! The next morning I began working on this painting. I introduced the moon to the right to add a little more visual interest to the scene. And here you have it! You for visiting my blog. I hope you had a good read. We can keep in touch on.
