Monthly Archives: March 2011. March 16, 2011 · 12:16 am. I dream of cake. To say I like sweets is an understatement. So when I say that over the past 6 months I have been in a whirlwind (literally at some points) of powdered sugar and sprinkles, you’ll believe me when I say I’ve enjoyed it. They’ve been patient enough recently to disciple me in the cake decorating arts. What a world I have walked into! It is a whole new medium. I know I’m behind in realizing this, but fondant can do anything! Shared the ...

Monthly Archives: June 2011. June 14, 2011 · 11:18 pm. Ok so, I may be a tinsy bit impatient. My lovely friend and fellow artist at Dreamcakes, Stephanie, and I just might a little similar in this way. Every morning, we would catch each other eyeing the clock before lunch (about every 4-5 minutes) and as we realized it was not time yet, we let out a big sigh (the sighs increased in dramaticness the closer it got to lunch). 8230; Finished part two today! Filed under Artists I Love. There’s a happy d...

Monthly Archives: July 2011. July 22, 2011 · 5:59 pm. I recently left my job at the charming and scrumptious Dreamcakes Bakery to take some time to focus on my art. It has truly been a blessing to have the freedom to stay in my studio all day! I am absolutely soaking in every moment of it, because I know I will be back in the real world of a regular job soon enough. Everyone is gracious to be so intrigued by my painting obsession.🙂. No- I am not that creative! The job of the impressionist painter is to ...

Storefront Windows →. September 6, 2011 · 3:33 am. All the World’s a Stage. As I reflect on the person that I am and how others perceive me, I see a lot of truth coming out through this painting. It was enlightening to voice my realizations onto a canvas, and I decided to make it a series:. All the Worlds’s a Stage. I have been writing this entry for a while now, typing and deleting explanations of these paintings, but I lean on what I first expressed: I just cannot communicate it any other way:. Follow ...

art couple: January 2012
http://artcouple.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 14, 2012. An embarrassment of riches. It's been long enough now that my image indigestion has abated and I have begun pulling out my new babies and working them into our repertoire. Here is a newbie, "Three Boating". 30" x 40" oil on linen, $1800. And here is "Four Layered Lounge".my new favorite. 36" x 36" oil on linen, $2200. Many of our new purchases didn't make the cut for use in our work, and some of those have gone into a 'wallpaper' type project at the gallery:. Nude of the day.

art couple: saudade
http://artcouple.blogspot.com/2014/02/saudade.html
Thursday, February 6, 2014. We recently received an email from a client who was interested in our painting "The Way Back". The entire message was lovely and thought provoking but one particular line stood out to me. It said " The saudade of your work is palpable and intoxicating." This stood out mostly because not only did I have no idea what it meant but I had never even seen that word before. Google defines it as:. June 2, 2014 at 11:01 AM. I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the gallery and saw it ...
