These tanks are manufactured from polyethylene and are available in either dark green or black. A concrete base may be required depending on tank size/ground conditions. It may be possible to part bury a tank designed for surface mounting up to 1 metre in depth. This reduces both the cost of the tank and its installation and can often reduce the visual impact of the tank sufficiently. Buried tanks are cased in concrete to provide protection from sharp objects and ground pressure.
