After much anticipation, it is great to say that Watonga Cheese is finally HERE! The Perryton factory has begun manufacturing and the Watonga retail location now has mild cheddar, cheddar pepper, bacon cheddar and onion cheddar, as well as the beloved curds in yellow, white and jalapeno. And remember, when you are asked by locals or visitors where they can find Watonga Cheese, send them down to the Plant Place! Basil and Danna Taylor. The Life of Mary Louise Lou Gray Rother. With the cooperation of my parents C. L. Press and Edna Rice Gray, I made my debut on March 5, 1945, at the Watonga Hospital. Dr. A.K. Cox assisted my birth. My parents were primarily engaged in the café business here in Watonga. The most notable being the Nickel Inn located on Main Street. It was appropriately named because the hamburgers and coneys cost a nickel. Later they owned the Hiway Cafe. Lou's father with his five brothers:. He graduated from Southwester...

Wednesday, March 5, 2014. March 5, 2014. We are still fighting cold, icy, sometimes snowy weather, but "this too shall pass." According to the Farmers Almanac, March will be "chilly" and wet and may not warm up until the last week of the month. The forecast calls for average daytime temperatures in the 50's, which will be a nice change from freezing temperatures. We may have some pleasant days off and on throughout the month.
