Now What's Up

Sunday, August 10, 2014. My workshop is done! It was a long road (11 months - framed the first wall on September 9 and I finished up the last of the trim work on August 9) but if feels great and I'm very happy with the results. Now I get to start building the benches for inside the workshop. And the house.I guess I should find some time to finish off the house as well. Tuesday, July 8, 2014. The queen of bling. Now What's Up: Workshop - Starting the inside

http://www.watters-doole.blogspot.com/2014/06/workshop-starting-inside.html

Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Workshop - Starting the inside. It's been a while since my last update, but the lack of pictures doesn't mean no work has been happening. So, after some research, I found that I could raise the joists about 18" without risking the structure of the workshop. This still left me with enough of an attic that air can circulate properly while giving the extra headroom I wanted. Finally it was time to hang the drywall - the end is in sight! As I mentioned before, I have to use firecode dr...

Tuesday, July 8, 2014. The queen of bling. Emma wanted her loft bed back. Not a problem, the ceiling fan had to be removed though (replaced with a floor version). This meant a shopping trip for Emma and her dad for a new light. This is what she picked. She was really impressed with the chandeliers the hung down 3 feet or more but those were vetoed. Let them eat cake. Emma wanted to make and decorate a cake. Pretty yummy results. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The queen of bling. Let them eat cake.

Tuesday, November 19, 2013. So Much for Peace and Quiet. Friday, November 8, 2013. Workshop - Days 17 and 18. I really want to get the outside of the workshop done before the snow flies, and the roof in particular. Given that I still have to get the boat put away for the winter as well, I decided to bring in the pros to do the shingles. While they were doing the roof, I put on the house wrap and installed the windows. Next stop: the door and siding. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). So Much for Peace and Quiet.

Now What's Up: Super Ova!

http://www.watters-doole.blogspot.com/2014/06/super-ova.html

Monday, June 2, 2014. Had soft and hard boiled eggs for breakfast yesterday. Doug put the food away, marking which were hard/soft boiled. Preparing my lunch this morning, I found this in the fridge. Yep, a super egg complete with cape. And that is why I love my geek. : ). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Workshop - My Helper. Workshop - Starting the inside.

Now What's Up: March 2014

http://www.watters-doole.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 31, 2014. Another sign of spring. The penguins, who got frozen in over Christmas, are peaking out of the snowbank. We may still have snow piles, but spring is most definitely in the air. The patio doors can be opened without fears of frostbite, something Leo appreciates. Saturday, March 15, 2014. A week of daily swims in the pool with her dad and Emma turned into a fish. While in Florida visiting Grandma we had the chance to visit a park, and a tree, we went to last time. Will it never end?

Watterworks Fibrecrafty Stuff: April 2012

http://watterworks.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Updates on the progress of my City and Guilds design course, and other fibrecrafty activities. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Some would call it a creative block, but I call it a lull. That way I can't use it as an excuse - to me 'creative block' is to be feared, something hard to get over whereas a lull is a temporary interruption, creativity is still there. As I feared, the momentum from the series course has diminished and I've not created anything new. Self-fulfilling prophecy? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Updates on the progress of my City and Guilds design course, and other fibrecrafty activities. Sunday, February 22, 2009. In an issue of Quilting Arts there was an article on flour resists. I love the idea of using ordinary household (and craft) supplies, particularly non-toxic ones. So, I gave it a try with results that make me want to do some more. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Updates on the progress of my City and Guilds design course, and other fibrecrafty activities. Sunday, October 29, 2006. This year, for the first time ever, I signed up for some courses at the CreativFestival (formerly Creative Sewing and Needlework Festival). One course was "Spontaneous Geometrics" taught by John Willard. We worked very hard and as a result nearly everyone went home with a completed top for a wall hanging. I am quite please with mine. I may even finish it one day.
