A Lot of Sugar: October 2011
http://alotofsugar.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 29, 2011. It's my second time making this kind of cake but a first to make it a full female torso. I have confirmed again how much I enjoyed making this kind of cake design. I made it real simple this time because I didn't have much time getting more decors done as I only knew about making this cake a few days before the event. I dusted the nipples with the combination of pink, peach and brown color dust . I was so mad I couldn't even say a single word. Good thing the dinner was not...

http://alotofsugar.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 14, 2012. Finally got the chance to make a Lightning McQueen cake. Definitely a tough challenge but I'm quite happy how it turned out. At first I didn't quite know how and where to start carving the cake. After a lot of glances at the toy of my son I did finally got in the groove of carving it. :). Cake's a white vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. Another want to do cake checked off my list! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Other Blogs to Follow. Way Beyond Cakes by Mayen.

Petite Lei Cakes: Where to start....? My cake-history...
http://petiteleicakes.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-cakestory.html
Monday, July 16, 2012. First, let me introduce myself:) Let's just call me Petite Normann. I have lots of names over the years. From using my middle name (Leilani), then my first name (Gladys), and of course, the one I use, my nickname. And then the nickname had nicknames.my nieces and nephews calling me Aunt Pete, Aunt Teet or Aunt Pateet. Uhm.too many names in my opinion! And also Edna de la Cruz of Design Me a Cake ( www.designmeacake.com. There are a few more names that I should give credit to for my...

A Lot of Sugar: March 2012
http://alotofsugar.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 3, 2012. Gold Silver Birthday Cake. A friend requested to make a gold/silver theme birthday cake for her mother's birthday. And to be honest I had a hard time making up the design of the cake. I wanted it to be elegant but not looking like a wedding cake. I made a rose out of gumpaste and painted it with gold highlighter dust. Same with the number. The bottom tier I decorated with petals that were dusted with silver petal dust. Picture doesn't show the shimmer of the bottom tier.

A Lot of Sugar: November 2011
http://alotofsugar.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 13, 2011. So to cover it up, I rolled out fondant and did the crimping on it and attached it to the top and bottom edge. :). I made a decent looking flower to put it on top. The only regret I have here is I didn't use the script letter cutters. Oh well! What do you do if you have only a couple of hours to do the cake. hehe. Anyway, what's important is the celebrant liked it! Cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream icing. That's my attempt to cover that mistake. Ugh! Made a cake/cupca...

A Lot of Sugar: Red Skull Cake
http://alotofsugar.blogspot.com/2012/06/red-skull-cake.html
Sunday, June 24, 2012. This is the cake I did for my son's birthday party. He requested a red skull cake and he told me what the cake design should be. So this was totally his idea that I executed. Red skull was a toy that I bought as he said that it needs to be a real toy! Plus the fact that I can't mold figures with such details. :). Name, number and fire design were fondant colored yellow orange and dusted with red edible petal dust for the fire effect. Labels: red skull cake. July 24, 2012 at 1:55 PM.
