The main house is located atop a 120 foot bluff overlooking the Blanco River. Recently installed, a platform elevator will conveniently carry you to the bottom of the cliff, where it is a short walk to the Sporting Clays Range, and about a ¼ mile walk to the dock and boat house. There is a gas grill located on the deck which you are welcome to use, as well as indoor and outdoor gas lit fireplaces. Trees on the ranch. See below for more pictures!

Directions to the Ranch. Take I-10 west to Luling (approx. 140 mi.). Hwy 80 north to San Marcos (approx 25 mi.). Rt on I-35 feeder 0.9 mi to first signal (Hwy. 82). From San Marcos to Ranch:. West on Hwy. 82 0.8 mi. to Post Road. Right on Post Road and 0.3 mi. to Lime Kiln Road. Left on Lime Kiln and 2 mi. to Hilliard. Left on Hilliard and 5.3 mi. to the second Alpine Trail. Right on Alpine and 0.3 mi. to Thurmond (Ranch Road 385). Left on Thurmond (Ranch Road 385) and 0.6 mi. to Fox.

Bring any liquor, wine or beer. Bring any special seasoning or spices for cooking. Bring all food items except basics like flour, sugar, salt, etc. There are a couple of grocery stores in San Marcos. It is a 20 minute drive from the house. Bring beach towels for the river. Bring paper plates and plastic utensils if you plan on having a picnic by the river. Bring hiking or walking shoes if you plan on hiking. Bring a gun if you plan on using the sporting clays range or hunting. Back to Main Page.

Please list any staple items that you run out of while visiting. Please do not leave perishable items in the refrigerator. Please keep open canisters of coffee, flour, etc. in the freezer. Do not take cutlery or plates to the river. Pull the deck chairs under the overhang before you leave. Please turn OFF the A/C, fans and lights when you leave.
