Education and Fair Trade in Mayan Chiapas
Weaving for Justice: Supporting Education and Fair Trade. Weaving for Justice is a volunteer, non-profit organization that works in solidarity with Maya women’s weaving cooperatives in highland Chiapas, Mexico. The organization has its roots in community, church, and university groups in Las Cruces, New Mexico, that came together in the wake of the Zapatista uprising in 1994.
