WEAVING FOR FUN: April 2015
http://weavingforfun.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. It was an interesting adventure - shadow weave. Not really my cup of tea. I think I might turn the large piece into a pillow. I will sit it on the shelf until it decides. Maybe it wants to be a purse or "? This next photo is some of the different treadlings. Sunday, April 26, 2015. And so I begin. I can see that this is a plain weave structure, but with the colors and the different tie-ups on my four shafts, I haven't figured it out yet. But sure is pretty! Friday, April 24, 2015.
WEAVING FOR FUN: Recharged and Inspired
http://weavingforfun.blogspot.com/2015/07/recharged-and-inspired.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Nothing like a guild meeting to get the juices flowing again. I had missed the last couple of meeting and was glad to see my weaving friends. The show-and-tell and visiting hit the spot. I gave the program on C. Larry shared with us some towels he wove. Larry does such wonderful work. These might be for a sister, so don't tell! Dawn and her towels. She didn't get them hemmed in time for the meeting, but we are glad she brought them to share anyway! A labor of love! Thank you, An...
WEAVING FOR FUN: Color - Color Everywhere, And Not A Drop To Drink
http://weavingforfun.blogspot.com/2015/08/color-color-everywhere-and-not-drop-to.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Color - Color Everywhere, And Not A Drop To Drink. It boggles the brain to know there are almost endless possibilities with single-two tie. The color choices alone could send you right to the nearest straight jacket. So now, I am trying out two colors in the weft and tabby a different color than the warp. I wish my Macomber loom had a 'baby wolf trap' to hold the shuttles when working with more than two. someone invent that-please! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a weave...
WEAVING FOR FUN: Weaving Diva August Show-And-Tell
http://weavingforfun.blogspot.com/2015/08/weaving-diva-august-show-and-tell.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Weaving Diva August Show-And-Tell. You are in for a treat this month. The Weaving Divas have been busy creating some awesome stuff! Marty brought this Huck Lace wine bottle bag. Love the red! This is an 8 shaft plaited twill scarf with some mohair that Marty wove on a Struckto Loom. I am sure I misspelled that! Marilynn used some JOY yarns to weave this Twill scarf using a 1991 Handwoven draft. For this scarf, Marilynn used 8/2 Tencel in 5 colors in a broken twill 3/1 twill pattern.
WEAVING FOR FUN: Weaving Diva August Program
http://weavingforfun.blogspot.com/2015/08/weaving-diva-august-program.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. Weaving Diva August Program. Tomi is a fantastic seamstress! Her program was on weaving with handwoven fabric. We learned how to take a rectangle of fabric and turn it into an Origami Top. Using three different weights of threads she found the lighter weight fabric worked best for this technique. We were given a strip of paper and folded it as we would our fabric. Excellent visual aide. And what would be a meeting of weavers without the sharing of ideas and questions? Color - Co...

Textile Sanity: It's Delovely
http://textilesanity.blogspot.com/2012/09/its-delovely.html
Thursday, September 27, 2012. I love spinning. I love teaching and demonstrating the art of spinning. I get great personal satisfaction from helping a new spinner figure out how to make yarn. Unique yarn. I taught a private student recently who paid me the nicest compliment. She said “. I really appreciated your knowledge and professionalism in spinning. I was very inspired to grow in the craft.”. It was super nice to hear. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Inkle Loom Tetrahedron Ornaments.

Sunday, July 29, 2012. Fun Days at Convergence. I spent two days last week at Convergence 2012 in Long Beach, CA. Convergence happens once every 2 years. This year it happened to be in my back yard. It is a super textile extravaganza event. There are exhibits, a fashion show, lots of classes and a full vendor hall. I was able to see the tapestry exhibit at the Long Beach Library. I saw the fashion show, leader and multi-media exhibits. I shopped in the vendor hall. I just love this bag featuring her as t...
Textile Sanity: Snickering Pigs
http://textilesanity.blogspot.com/2012/11/snickering-pig_30.html
Friday, November 30, 2012. I finished Angry Bird Pig #1 a month ago. Here he is (reference blog post Too Busy. I finished Angry Bird Pig #2 last week. Here he is. Here they are together. Aren’t they ridiculously cute? Can you tell one pig is bigger than the other? Not sure how that happened but I must have tightened the yarn tension on the second one. It’s probably closer to pattern gauge than the first piggy. Have one more to make. Ian calls them “Snickering Pigs.”. December 2, 2012 at 5:32 AM.

Monday, December 31, 2012. A Year of Firsts. 2012 has been a year of firsts for me. First time Ian, my son, went to school. First time selling something online in my Etsy. First time really keeping track of how and when I finish my UFO’s (UnFinished Objects). First time teaching spinning to a private student. First time (in many years) going to a fiber arts awards ceremony. First time processing wool in the grease (freshly sheared) - from washing. I wish good things and happy tidings to you in 2013.
Gangewifre Weaving: End Feed Shuttles
http://gangewifre.blogspot.com/2015/03/end-feed-shuttles.html
A weaving blog of the what, why and how of the work I have been doing. Sunday, March 1, 2015. Weaving the Waffle Weave Shawl (it is off the loom and resting in preparation for being fringed and washed) necessitated fairly frequent colour changes so I took the opportunity to try some different shuttles. The second metal tipped shuttle that I tried was a bit of a beast but it was surprisingly easy to use. It has an adjustable Honex type tension adjuster. I thought that it might be a bit hard on the...Chanc...

A gathering place for family and friends from across the miles. Sharing, creating and loving what we do in our every day lives. Thank you for being part of the journey! Thursday, February 13, 2014. Have you seen all the new Burlap Patterns at JoAnn Fabrics. So many to choose from so I started with just a couple. Of prints. I noticed these don't "shed" as much as some burlap. I have worked with. Or smell for that matter. This is what I came up with now at American Country Mercantile. Hours are 10 - 5 PM, ...
