Afraid of the dark | Simply Wait

Contemplative blogging by Pamela C Hawkins. Afraid of the dark. October 22, 2009 at 1:32 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. But somewhere in my life I began to need the dark. I began to long for real darkness in which deep rest could come. When fragments of light would creep into my room and into my tightly closed eyes, I would be restless and frustrated. Light interrupts my need for darkness – and darkness restores my longing for the light. I do not know when this conversion happened. Friends of Radnor Lake.

Contemplative blogging by Pamela C Hawkins. On work and rest [or not]. September 7, 2009 at 3:02 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. So the night before the day I could “officially” rest from my “labor,” I could not rest at all because I was conflicted about whether or not to go to work when I could choose. To work according to all the “labor” standards that had been set for me. It was an ironic night. No comments yet ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Contemplative blogging by Pamela C Hawkins. October 6, 2009 at 10:06 am · Filed under Uncategorized. But my heart keeps busy at this wondering. It is like butterfly flutters or owl hoots — I am not really expecting them, but there they are in my peripheral vision or distant hearing. I have to look twice or tilt my head to be sure they are there–those wonderings. No comments yet ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Contemplative blogging by Pamela C Hawkins. January 26, 2013 at 2:29 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. I have been thinking lately about unconditional love. What does it really mean and look like? Lately, this has been on my mind, for unconditional love is just that — love with no conditions, but with radical possibilities if we trust God. No comments yet ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
