http://qbdiva.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thoughts and teachings from the keyboard. Saturday, December 5, 2009. What to put in that Check # field when there is no check #. A question my clients ask me often is "how do I enter debit card purchase into my QuickBooks file? What is stumping them is that on the Write Checks screen, what do they put in the check # field? The initial reaction of some clients is to put the reference # or approval # from their debit card receipt in that field. NO NO NO! The actual check # used). An ATM withdrawal from th...

The QuickBooks Diva: iPhone/iPad Scanner Apps
http://qbdiva.blogspot.com/2012/11/iphoneipad-scanner-apps.html
Thoughts and teachings from the keyboard. Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Recently I've noticed that several companies have put out iPhone/iPad apps for easy receipt scanning. Although I absolutely LOVE my high-speed Fujitsu scanner. I have thought at times that it would be nice to be able to use my phone's camera to scan business receipts, especially when I'm on the go. So I decided to download a sampling of the apps (well, three, anyway), try them out and report back here to all of you on my findings.

The QuickBooks Diva: October 2011
http://qbdiva.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thoughts and teachings from the keyboard. Saturday, October 22, 2011. Did you over pay your taxes? I was recently at a client's office preparing an interim Profit and Loss report for them as they are trying to purchase a new home. As I was reviewing their expenditures this year, I cam across a large check to the IRS for last year's taxes. The final number on last year's P&L was way too small to have resulted in a tax due that large. How on earth did you owe this much tax for 2010? Download our iTunes app!

Thoughts and teachings from the keyboard. Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Paying vendors via direct deposit in QuickBooks. Starting with version 2010, you can now pay your vendors via direct deposit in QuickBooks. The $1.25 per payment still applies but with the savings of check stock, printer ink, envelopes, stamps and most importantly, time, the fee is well worth it. And you could charge the fee back to your vendors since it is a convenience for them to receive payment electronically. Click the box next ...
