Trouble was that we were told that there was no addin so you could not run it from within Excel. But look here scn.sap.com. Go to BEx analyzer - Global settings and there tick/untick ‘Start BEx Analyzer When MS Excel Starts’. That should start/stop the BEx 7.0 tool loading when Excel starts.
