Review: The Flash #2 ~ The 52 Review
http://52review.blogspot.com/2011/10/review-flash-2.html
52 Wednesdays. Weekly Reviews. Friday, October 28, 2011. Review: The Flash #2. Added 9:53 AM, Under: DC. Had much of a courtship in comics, and they were married back in the 60's. With Barry dead for decades, modern readers haven't gotten to see much of the two of them together, and I didn't particularly care about the couple when Barry came back. I'm pretty certain that a Barry/Iris pairing is still the endgame, and I'm glad I now have a chance to enjoy the build-up. 10 Reasons You Should Read Severed.

Review: Batwing #1 ~ The 52 Review
http://52review.blogspot.com/2011/09/review-batwing-1.html
52 Wednesdays. Weekly Reviews. Sunday, September 11, 2011. Added 6:08 AM, Under: Batfamily. One of my favorite things is being surprised. One of my favorite surprises is when something I was not interest in turns out to be fantastic. One of my favorite examples of that is Batwing #1. It's such a strange feeling I'm encountering here. Normally I am so quick to find complaints, but for this one I have to really grasp at straws to find something I didn't like. But, there were two things. But when is "NOW"?

New 52 Review: Batman Detective Comics #1 ~ The 52 Review
http://52review.blogspot.com/2011/09/new-52-review-batman-detective-comics-1.html
52 Wednesdays. Weekly Reviews. Wednesday, September 14, 2011. New 52 Review: Batman Detective Comics #1. Added 9:34 PM, Under: Batman. The title that named the company! After 881 issues spanning 74 years (The longest continually published comic book in America), we get a fresh new start! And boy, what a mediocre start it is. It starts with Batman hot on the trail of The Joker, which is a perfect way to start any new Batman story arch. That much is good. There’s even a vague reference to Catwoman. Jumping...

Comics You Should Be Reading: Green Wake ~ The 52 Review
http://52review.blogspot.com/2011/10/comics-you-should-be-reading-green-wake.html
52 Wednesdays. Weekly Reviews. Saturday, October 29, 2011. Comics You Should Be Reading: Green Wake. Added 2:33 PM, Under: Comics You Should Be Reading. There's no comic quite like Green Wake. Were I pressed to compare it to something, I'd name Silent Hill- both are set in mysterious, horrific towns that seem to draw you towards them. That understand the worst things about you, and the best ways to haunt you. Towns that, for most who come across them, there is no true escape. Review: I, Vampire #1. The T...

52 Wednesdays. Weekly Reviews. Saturday, September 24, 2011. Review: Red Hood and the Outlaws #1. Added 1:47 PM, Under: Batfamily. Red Hood and the Outlaws. First off, let me level set: this is the book I was most excited about this week and one of my top 5 for the new 52. Back when it was announced that Jason Todd was coming back from the dead, I thought it was one of the worst ideas ever. “How are they going to make a former Robin who was voted to be killed. The introduction to Starfire is concise and ...

One of my favorite comics right now is Image's 7 issue limited series Severed. It's a horror story set in 1916 that the writers describe as a "historical fairy tale". I'm a huge fan of horror comics in general, but there's something about this one that makes it stand out. So why should you give this book a chance? Here are 10 reasons why:. 10 The art is gorgeous.
