Vantage Photography: Why does it take so long to get my photos?
http://vantagephotography.blogspot.com/2008/12/why-does-it-take-so-long-to-get-my.html
Why does it take so long to get my photos? Ever wonder why it takes a photographer awhile to get you your prints after you order them? After all, everyone shoots digital nowadays and we can all see the picture instantly. I've been doing some editing on some of the last photos I took of my grandma Frieda and I thought I'd share with you a "before" and "after" of one of my shots so you can see the level of work that goes into an individual image before it's printed. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.Fa la la la la. Michael and I are leaving on a jet plane for the winter tundra (Wisconsin) tomorrow! My friend Kira recently asked how the weather was in S.D. "It's been pretty chilly here lately, actually. I wish it would warm up a bit," I answered. "Hmm," she said. "Chilly as in 5 degrees? Ummm, no." I replied, "More like upper 50s. Ok, point taken.". Yeah, according to my Google weather gadget, here's how Madison and San Diego compare.Brrrr! Being the born a...

Palmyra, Crac des Chavliers and Aleppo. We did make a fun little find, too. At a restaurant we ate at, the owner was selling old Iraqi money- we landed a Iraqi bill with Saddam's pictures on it for $6. Creepy and cool all at the same time. We crossed the border into Turkey this afternoon where we've been promised the food gets even better and we'll see more and more carpet stores. :) Ciao! Links to this post. You are now entering Syria. Links to this post. Read on to find the answer. There was no shower ...

Vantage Photography: July 2008
http://vantagephotography.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Santorini, Pompeii and Rome. It's our last day today. I'm sitting in the kitchen of our Rome hostel, waiting for Michael to finish packing. Our bags are heavier (lots of sovieners! Our skin is tanner (hooray for laying out by the cruise ship pool! No moving. Until a pack of about 20 donkeys turned the corner on the way up the hill and Mr. Donkey decided to show his solidarity and walk up with the others. Geesh. I opted not to chance a donkey ride on the way down, needless to say. Links to this post.
