They bring in music a few times a year and to our surprise, Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman of Munnville have been here a couple of times. National Parks Tour: The Alaska Leg. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Views From the Nest III. Lunch of reindeer hot dogs in Skagway. We saw dozens of bears- these were my favorite. From bears to boulders! This is not an optical illusion. When you order tea- it's 3 times the size! Yukon/BC roads- note no shoulders or markings! Wayne riding through sign post forest. I don't think this is really a road. Things we share the road with. Not all the sights are pretty. Boardwalk to Rancherio Falls. Two Days in Anchorage.

National Parks Tour: The Alaska Leg. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Look who was in Skagway today! Easy to mistake big boat at the end of the street for an alien craft. Our driver, DJ, and a new driver on the White Pass and Yukon Route. The General Store in Carcross, between Whitehorse and Skagway. Part of this building dated to the late 1800s. Robin found gold in the General store. Some new, some old. A little of everything. Part store, part museum. Dwelling next door to the General Store.

National Parks Tour: The Alaska Leg. Thursday, June 16, 2011. Two days in Denali with digs at a B&B in Healey, followed by a night at Chena Hot Springs, did not prepare us for the steel drum band in Fairbanks. This group of locals seem bound and determined to celebrate the sounds and spirit of summer in spite of the temps in the 40s and 50s. Robin in the paining that was the Savage River ridge. I admire the quote but was especially drawn to the photo of the McKinley climber with his Little Martin guitar.
