The family recipe box. Here's a great article on the difference between a quiche and a frittata. This recipe combines the dairy add to the eggs and the broiling with a crust of the frittata. The family recipe box. Chunky Leek and Potato Soup. We really love this soup on a chilly day. It's hearty enough for a meal, especially by leaving this nice and chunky instead of making it a puree like most leek and potato soups. Garlic cloves, de-germed and chopped. Leeks, white and light green part only, thinly sliced. Russet potato, peeled and chopped. C light chicken broth. Salt and white pepper. C gruyere cheese, chopped or shredded. Serve with any number of optional toppings. Med onion, sliced.

The family recipe box. Creamy mushrooms and eggs. Tbsp in salted butter. Large shallot, minced. Small slices brioche or challah. Slice mushrooms to bite size. Medium skillet, med-high heat, add butter and oil. When bubbles subside, toss shallots about 2 mins. Add mushrooms, salt and pepper and stir until mushrooms give out liquid. Cook until tender.
