Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Another Raspberry PI Competitor. I'm pretty happy using Raspberry PIs. The RPI III is especially powerful, but as with any innovation competitors will pop up. I'm actually going to write a longer post talking about alternatives to the Pi, but for now I found an interesting article on the PocketCHIP which is a handheld competitor to the PI. Friday, September 2, 2016. A planet was recently found orbiting the closest start to the sun. People are already talking about sending spacecraft there, but it will take 30 years to develop the technology. Then it could take 25 to 50 years to get there. My question is once it's there how do we communicate with it? It will be around 5 light years away, so any communication would take 5 years to receive a message. Its' difficult enough to deal with a probe in the solar system with several hours delay.
