Personal Ramblings – Real and Virtual. West Texas Ramble – Days 7, 8, 9, and 10. November 9, 2013. OMG – can’t believe I stopped blogging on day 6. Am home now. Will make a frantic/desperate effort to catch up! Rain all day. Drove with Maria and Chris to Castolon on the west side of the park. Also, explored Santa Elena Canyon. Did not spend much time out of the van. Chris drove. I got lots of knitting done. 6 inches of ribbing on my Chisos Cowl! Lunch in the rain at Santa Elena Canyon with Maria and Chris.

Personal Ramblings – Real and Virtual. Road Trip – Day 4. December 14, 2016. Got to Joshua Tree yesterday and did the short, but desert beautiful Hidden Valley hike. Such a joy to see Joshua Tree after my years of exile in Texas. Have posted more about Hidden Valley on my fiber blog, Ramblings on Fiber, because I found inspiration (color and design) for a weaving project. San Dimas tonight. Heading back to Texas in a week. Personal Ramblings – Real and Virtual. The Goodness of Trains. September 7, 2015. Just took the Sunset Limited from San Antonio to Los Angeles and return. Had a roomette – wonderful experience. Read and knit all day in my own little bubble as I watched Arizona and New Mexico go by. Arizona storm from the train. Sand patterns made by waves. A whole, living sand dollar! Maynard Dixon painting (copy not original) at the Tucson station. One gets a different view of the world from a train.

In the middle of the night in my tent – such high static electricity that when I touched the tent fabric I could see the spokes radiating from my finger tip. Had my own personal light show in the middle of the night. Lost Mine Trail – 6 miles. Switch backs to top were not as bad as I remembered. They are very gently graded so it wasn’t a bad walk at all.
