Wednesday, December 1, 2010. What is it with me and falling trees? So we're having a rainy, windy day in the Hudson Valley today. I woke up and thought, "Well, if it's not snow, I'll take it." Then, I was making lunch. Andrew was in the living room. While talking to him, I saw something white flash past the window. When I investigated further, I saw that a large portion of our birch tree had fallen into the yard! Luckily, it didn't hit anything in the yard. It's like a lame super power or something.

Friday, January 25, 2013. I have been sick since literally the last post. Uggg I missed 2 days of work and felt absolutely awful. But today, I feel like I have turned a corner. My nose is still a little congested, but I feel. So glad to finally feel like myself. Hopefully I have been exposed to all of the germs that are circulating around this time of year. Saturday, February 9, 2013. The predictions were calamitous. Up to 2 feet of snow. Falling at a rate of 2-3 inches per hour. I was dreading looking outside this morning at 4:45 when Andrew's alarm went off (he got up extra early to allow time for shoveling and a slow commute in the storm). We were pleasantly surprised to find a mere 6 inches! But I did more shoveling so the new spot was as clean as my old spot. Then, I came inside only to see that the snow emergency has been lifted!

Thursday, March 3, 2011. Quincy and I went for our first Rail Trail walk of the year. I was afraid there would be mud. There wasn't- because it was still under like 6 inches of snow! And tomorrow it's going to feel like the single digits with the wind chill. Bleak! But, I do see signs that this long winter may be winding down. The days are getting longer.
