June 22, 2016. In November 2013 I was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. It was an anaplastic astrocytoma grade 3 and the outlook was not looking great for my future. After 2 operations to remove as much of the tumor as possible I completed the standard treatment protocol of 6 weeks of radiotherapy and 6 months of chemotherapy. To say that was the most challenging experience of my life would be an understatement! January 1, 2016. Now we are not able to control that so much as I know only too well!

Home For New Year! March 20, 2015. My major concerns prior to surgery were that I would suffer some left side paralysis and/or brain damage. I was home on December 29th 2013. I was feeling great but I was also aware that this was only the initial stages of tackling the tumour and I would still need chemotherapy and possibly radiotherapy in the near future. But that didn’t stop me having a cheeky drink or 2 with my mates to celebrate still being around! Seconds out, Round 2! WEAR A HAT DAY →.

The project has been set up to provide free activity sessions for people affected by cancer in the Manchester area. May 30, 2015. May has been a good month for me. I celebrated another birthday (I have more reason to celebrate them nowadays! And I completed the Manchester 10km run and raised just shy of 1000 for cancer research UK (thank you to everyone that sponsored me). My good friend and colleague, David Hough, accompanied me throughout the event (sorry it took an hour Dave) and it was a pleasure to be invited to run as part of ‘Team Tommy’. Hope to see you there!
