Karen Lingefelt: April 2012

Friday, April 27, 2012. Writing the Write on Walking the Walk. There are just two little things I don’t like about the walking, both of which come from having a hopelessly introverted personality: Having to go around people ahead of me who walk slower than I do, and greeting strangers walking or biking in the opposite direction. Yes, I know. Just go around them, Karen! It won’t kill you to smile and say, “It’s just me,” and then go around them! How I can empathize! Ninety-nine percent of the time they...

Karen Lingefelt: The Annual Christmas Shopping Post, 2012 Edition
http://karenlingefelt.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-annual-christmas-shopping-post-2012.html
Thursday, December 6, 2012. The Annual Christmas Shopping Post, 2012 Edition. As part of the family budgeting program, we have a certain amount of money allocated exclusively for Christmas presents. Even though we’ve acquired everything requested (save for the newest. Movie that doesn’t come out till next Tuesday), we still have an ample amount left in the budget, so Mr. Lucky and I went to the mall today to do some extra Christmas shopping. It was actually a wooden puzzle which I’ve. I think he wanted.

Karen Lingefelt: On the Treadmill
http://karenlingefelt.blogspot.com/2012/09/on-treadmill.html
Friday, September 21, 2012. This week I went on a treadmill for the very first time in my life as part of a stress echocardiogram test (to make a long story short, I’m expected to live). The technicians seemed surprised that I’d never been on a treadmill before. Not all of us have gym memberships. I get my exercise by walking a mile, sometimes two miles around the neighborhood several times a week. And it’s not some casual stroll, either—it’s a very brisk walk. What do I need with a treadmill? Actually, ...

Karen Lingefelt: I Had 100 Days To Write A Book . . .
http://karenlingefelt.blogspot.com/2008/12/i-had-100-days-to-write-book.html
Thursday, December 11, 2008. I Had 100 Days To Write A Book . . . Back in September, TARA. The 100 x 100 challenge. 8212;to write at least 100 words a day for 100 days, with the ultimate goal being to finish the book in time for our holiday party. I started out well as evinced. Even though I didn’t like the story I was writing—this is not a book of the heart, but a book from the bowels—and on most days I wrote over 1,000 words, occasionally topping 2,000. In terms of my writing. What Am I Doing Here?

Tuesday, September 9, 2008. I Will Not Be Called a Braggy Pants This Week. We started the 100 x 100 challenge on September 3rd. The object is to write at least 100 words each day for 100 days, with the ultimate goal of completing That Damned Manuscript in time for our annual holiday party in December. As noted in my previous blog entry, I have to write at least 1,000 words every day if I hope to complete TDM by that time. Here is my progress for the first week:. Day 1- 2,444 words. YAY! Maybe it was the ...

Karen Lingefelt: First Anniversary of the Great Flood
http://karenlingefelt.blogspot.com/2007/11/first-anniversary-of-great-flood.html
Friday, November 9, 2007. First Anniversary of the Great Flood. It was one year ago today that it happened. Around 6 in the morning on November 9th, 2006, I woke up to hear 9 year old Baby Bear making his noises. Still drowsy, I didn't want to get out of bed, and lolled for a while, dozing on and off before I decided I'd better get up and make sure the refrigerator door wasn't hanging wide open, and that he hadn't upended a jug of juice somewhere. It was so much worse than that. Mr Lucky pulled out the w...

Karen Lingefelt: Does This Make Me a Victim of Birtherism?
http://karenlingefelt.blogspot.com/2012/02/does-this-make-me-victim-of-birtherism.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Does This Make Me a Victim of Birtherism? We were married in Denmark, so the marriage certificate is Danish, and in four languages! Thank the Lord I've never been divorced or remarried, or I would've had to bring along divorce and marriage documents for each and every marital misadventure, because Florida wants to see the whole painful trail of name changes. Bear with me; I really do intend to get somewhere with this.). Valid and ergo unacceptable. Ive had similar problems w...
