Land's End to John O'Groats. Monday, 23 July 2012. John O'Groats icecream demolition. So, after rolling up at John O'Groats on tuesday, woops of joy were in the air, but some disappointment was evident upon discovering the patch of grass and lonely campervans at the 'end of the road'. In other news, I have graduated from Sheffield University :D. The making of a masterpiece. As the photos suggest. we made it! Total altitude climbed: 50,800 ft (or.the equivalent of climbing Ben Nevis 11.5 times! Day 9 (For...

Land's End to John O'Groats: Photo Update
http://madeofsteel-lejog.blogspot.com/2012/07/photo-update.html
Land's End to John O'Groats. Tuesday, 17 July 2012. A 'quick rest' outside a church on our way to Preston. Quickly turned into a nap when the sun made an appearance. Kendal sunshine and ice cream. A sign 'Carlisle - 14 mile sign' made us comparable to team sky on a TT training run, and we team time trialed the final run into Carlisle. We're super fast even after 90 miles. Nicky is so fast she can time trial whilst taking photos! Irresponsible riding style. Happy girl though. We are fundraising for the Ro...

Land's End to John O'Groats. Monday, 2 July 2012. C2C in a day. It's sunday night, the week before our trip begins. I'm pretty tired, and should probably go to bed soon. A good excuse is that I cycled the iconic C2C yesterday - partly for fun, partly cos' I like a good old challege, and partly as training/fundraising for our LEJOG trip. And finishing up in Whitby. Http:/ connect.garmin.com/activity/194719542. A 7am start from Seascale. At the top of the Hardknott pass. Nearly 148 miles and 12,000 ft of c...

Land's End to John O'Groats: So far, so good
http://madeofsteel-lejog.blogspot.com/2012/07/so-far-so-good.html
Land's End to John O'Groats. Sunday, 8 July 2012. So far, so good. We got a nice sunny and quiet day as our first, perhaps not setting the exact right tone for what to come. An early morning at Lands End was followed by 45 quite hilly miles before we stopped in Newquay for lunch. The cafe served some gloriously undercooked jacket potatoes, muffins from Sainsbury's and supposedly genuine Cornish pasties.Yummy. So, time to crash. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We are fundraising for the Rotherham Hosp...
