dawn's journey: What Now??? Staying in the Game
http://dawnelder.blogspot.com/2014/04/what-now-staying-in-game.html
This is about my journey into my soul by way of the highway of Ironman. Monday, April 21, 2014. Staying in the Game. Well it happens to the best of us. It also happens to most of us if we move. We get a “niggle” or worse – an injury. Either way, we are stopped in our tracks. As an athlete that likes to see what is possible, I have had more than a few of these experiences. As a coach I have seen what happens to the athlete as it becomes their reality. This is a valuable process but also very difficult.

dawn's journey: January 2014
http://dawnelder.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
This is about my journey into my soul by way of the highway of Ironman. Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Do you remember it? That first school dance? The song you listened to on the way to your first race? The song playing at the finish line of your first Ironman? I often refer to these moments as anchors. Sometimes they are the “lucky … whatever”. These are how we get anchored to our memories. I have mine and if anyone knows me it is always music. So while I was on the bike I got to thinking about anchors.

dawn's journey: Sharks and Minnows
http://dawnelder.blogspot.com/2014/02/sharks-and-minnows.html
This is about my journey into my soul by way of the highway of Ironman. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. I am not sure when it happened exactly. At some point, I began to care less about being the Best and became much more interested in becoming the best that I can be. There is a difference. I was less interested in being the big fish in a small pond and much more interested in being a small fish in a big sea. The Best is relative to those with whom I am surrounded. The Best is about my ego. Yet, within the...

dawn's journey: March 2015
http://dawnelder.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
This is about my journey into my soul by way of the highway of Ironman. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. The Only Thing That Stays the Same is Change. In an effort to get back to blogging, I thought I would start with some musings after my Tucson Training Camp Extravaganza (more on that to come). The only thing that stays the same is change - those are the lyrics from one of my favorite songs. I believe that it is a constant reminder of life. Our sport often seems so monotonous. We know what workouts will work.

dawn's journey: Time Under Tension
http://dawnelder.blogspot.com/2014/10/time-under-tension.html
This is about my journey into my soul by way of the highway of Ironman. Sunday, October 19, 2014. One of my first mentors, Dr. Jack Barnathan. And my sponsors Promotion Physical Therapy. And the Alter G we did just that. Before I knew it, I was landing on the big Island. I was on a new bike - thanks to Dimond Bikes. And excited to meet up with my other amazing sponsor the girls at Smashfest Queen. And the rest of the Team HPB crew racing. These signs are everywhere! How many of these can I eat in a week?

dawn's journey: Re-evaluate, Redirect and Renew
http://dawnelder.blogspot.com/2013/08/re-evaluate-redirect-and-renew.html
This is about my journey into my soul by way of the highway of Ironman. Saturday, August 31, 2013. Re-evaluate, Redirect and Renew. The definition of "re" - action done over, often with the implication that the outcome of the original action was in some way impermanent or inadequate, or that the performance of the new action brings back an earlier state of affairs. There has been a lot of this lately. So next week we toe the line in Las Vegas at the 70.3 World Championships. I am so thankful for ...Melis...

dawn's journey: December 2014
http://dawnelder.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
This is about my journey into my soul by way of the highway of Ironman. Monday, December 01, 2014. There are few things I like more than pushing boundaries. The best way to get me to try something is to tell me I can’t. I know that is why I was drawn to Ironman. It seemed something impossible to most who knew a girl like me. But in the long run there would have no other way for me to be the woman I am without it. There was a time when I was told by many doctors that I could not/should not do Ironman.
