2010 Raid on Solent. Back of Beyond Campaign. Back of Beyond Campaign: Turn One Results! We can now reveal the results of Turn One of the Back of Beyond campaign. Brigadier (Retd.) Cholmondely Warner of the British Museum Expedition and Wei Phat Mac, the Chinese Warlord, both won their battles so will now advance one step closer to Urga and are, therefore, five steps away from the campaign objective. As a result, their erstwhile opponents, the French Citroen Kegresse expedition of Commandant Lostagaine, ...

Jim's Wargames Workbench: Axles and Alloys II

http://jimswargamesworkbench.blogspot.com/2015/05/axles-and-alloys-ii.html

Friday, 22 May 2015. Axles and Alloys II. I followed a link over on TMP and re-discovered the Axles and Alloys blog, complete with an updated set of the rules. I played a few games of this way back in 2010 against Jon at the club, with some diecast cars that we'd souped up into post-apocalytic carnage machines. I went for the muscle car sleek and dangerous look while Jon went for the rusty, grime encrusted chop shop option. Http:/ axlesalloys2.blogspot.co.uk/. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jim's Wargames Workbench: 1864 on BBC4

http://jimswargamesworkbench.blogspot.com/2015/05/1864_16.html

Saturday, 16 May 2015. The first two episodes of the Danish TV drama 1864. Are on this evening, although I'll have to wait until tomorrow to watch them on i-Player, as the kids have a sleepover and have bagged the telly to watch a DVD. This reminded me that I haven't posted the photos that I took in the Danish Army Museum last year, so here they are, with an emphasis on artillery of the period including some very dusty Espignols. 16 May 2015 at 12:05. Thanks for the heads up Jim. 17 May 2015 at 07:44.

Thursday, 6 August 2015. Chain of Command Japanese Platoon [17]. 7 August 2015 at 13:38. Dry brush looks very good over the top of the figure. are you going to use strong tone varnish over the lot at the end? Jim's Wargames Workbench: July 2015

http://jimswargamesworkbench.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, 30 July 2015. The Law of the Gun. There's a summer sale on at Northstar with some interesting things reduced down to a fiver. I wanted another artillery set for my WSS imaginations project, so for a fiver I now have a battery of four cannon and some more mounted command figures for a nice vignette. I might even be able to use some of the gun crew as sappers too. I was also tempted by the Chris Peers western gunfight rules The Law of the Gun. And some Dead Man's Hand. I have two posses painted u...

Jim's Wargames Workbench: March 2015

http://jimswargamesworkbench.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, 29 March 2015. Spy or Die Trying. I decided that, with the Easter holidays on the immediate horizon, it was time to invest in a couple of new boardgames for the inevitable rainy days indoors. I'm not planning to take any figures to paint or base up this time round, so it will be a boardgame only break in Brittany, with plenty of opportunity to get learn some new games. The first will be Spy or Die Trying. Which won the vote over Hour of Glory. Bolt Action Yanks [35]. Into Chain of Command. I foun...

http://jimswargamesworkbench.blogspot.com/2015/08/chain-of-commnd-japanese-platoon-19.html

Saturday, 8 August 2015. Chain of Command Japanese Platoon [19]. This is crawling along slowly but surely although I'd like to get more done each day. I've done the dry brushing over the basecoat and wash using Foundry Base Sand today. I've also painted the helmets in a basecoat of 50:50 Vallejo 921 English Uniform and 887 Brown Violet, as this looked closer to the actual colour than just the latter, which I thought looked too green. 8 August 2015 at 23:55. Saturday, 28 February 2015. Air War C21 Projects for March. Well, this month has turned out to be a bit of a crash landing, in terms of the MiG Alley. Project and my plans to complete it by now. :O(.
