At Westwood we treat all residents as individuals and provide person centred care. This begins before admission to the home as our Manager or Deputy Manager will come out to visit you and carry out an initial assessment to see if Westwood can meet your needs. On admission to the home, a personalised care plan is devised with you. We try to find out as much as we can about you, your likes and dislikes, your daily routine, so we can incorporate this with your care at Westwood.

We offer a wide range of activities designed to encourage residents to maintain mobility, promote mental alertness and retain their interests and community links. We have a physiotherapist who runs the weekly exercise classes, and a regular visiting hairdresser, podiatrist, and optician. We also arrange for visiting entertainers to perform for us from time to time, and organise clothes parties periodically. The day can begin with an early morning cup of tea and then a little later, breakfast in bed. After getting dressed residents usually meet up in the lounges to enjoy each others company, read the paper, entertain visitors, attend the weekly service or maybe watch television. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served mid-morning.

Westwood has been a family run business since 1982 and is under the personal supervision of the directors who are very much involved with the day to day running of the home. Our well trained work force has many years of experience and the majority have been employed here for 5 years or more. We support all our staff with on going training to maintain our high standard of care, almost all the carers have gained their NVQ Level 2 or above in Care or Health and Social Care.
