We Specialize in Complete Yard Makeovers. Middot; January 7, 2014. With many jobs we need to install steps or stairs when the grade is too steep. These are Tennessee Stone Slabs 3 feet wide, 6 inches thick and 18 inches deep. We can make steps out of the retaining wall block, but they can be steep sometimes. Here are some big chunks of Field stone used to make stairs. I like the natural look that this stone gives you. This type of retaining wall block makes a nice deep stair. Tennessee slabs, 3 feet wide.

Treks deck, steps and railing. Also has lighting in the steps. Privacy trellis next to the patio, jasmine in growing up it from behind and plants hanging from the front. Fence to keep balls from going down the hill and kids. Screened in a porch and bead board ceiling. Large deck to make the yard useful due to the grade.

Most of my jobs start with removing trees, stumps and grading the yard to accommodate the new lawn, walls, patios and gardens. The first picture shows where we graded for two walls and a patio below. Also removed 20 large trees to make room for a new lawn above. Cut the yard back to prep for the wall. Silt fencing is sometimes required and we can install that.

Dry riverbeds are common to install in yards, as they add a point of interest in the yard and function to prevent erosion in spots that water tends to run. This riverbed is between two houses and directs the water off the neighbor’s driveway. During a heavy rain this spot runs like a river so the rock looks good and handles the water well. We also installed walls over the culverts to make it look better and to help with mowing.
