Self Deluded Cranium Dump. Ramblings from brain wrongs that sound like true songs. Laquo; Back to blog. Reblogged: How To Blog Anonymously (and how not to). I'm re-blogging this from Dr Brooke Magnanti's website. As she rather startingly received a threatening take-down DMCA notice. For a particular blog post. As someone who is a member of ORG. Too), I wouldn't be at all surprised if Brooke's mention of Tor. Was what got the DMCA going. Anyway, I'm happy to re-blog Brooke's article here. You will need an...

Jourdemayne: May 2014

Friday, 23 May 2014. Porn in depth . or maybe not. About ten years ago I was making a composite Photoshop graphic and. Fair enough … I’ve got better at it. I think we can agree the internet has boobs aplenty, although accurately measuring porn traffic and content. So all that bandwidth isn’t devoted to watching kittens after all. The subject of Tyger Drew-Honey’s recent BBC3 Tyger Takes On …. And his mother Linzi Dre. W was an adult model, porn-performer and one-time editor of Penthouse. But enough of th...

Jourdemayne: September 2010
http://jourdemayne.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, 26 September 2010. The Changing Face of Anti-Vax. Lady Mary Wortley Montagu was a very well-travelled eighteenth century aristocrat whose husband was appointed ambassador to Istanbul. Fortunately for us, she was also a prolific letter writer. Her legacy is still in print. Lady Montagu had been scarred badly by a bout of smallpox in her youth. She was fortunate; many who contracted smallpox at the time, like her own brother, died. Edward Jenner later used cowpox pathogens to achieve the same resul...

Jourdemayne: January 2013
http://jourdemayne.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 13 January 2013. The British Journal of Psychiatry published an interesting paper. On their website in November but, to judge by the recent coverage, the PR has only just hit the newsrooms. Not good for the ‘spiritual’ people then. I liked the Telegraph. 8217;s reporting, but thought that The Daily Mail. And The Huffington Post. 8217;s coverage were more open to misreading with: “Being spiritual may give life deeper meaning, but it can also make you more susceptible to mental illness“...Have show...

Jourdemayne: August 2011
http://jourdemayne.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 14 August 2011. The Heart of Darkness. I grew up in Southall. It was OK: not much wrong, not much right. I remember listening to a chocolate advert’s jangling soundtrack which proposed we were in the ‘sophisticated 70s’. I wondered how we would remember it in retrospect, and came up with the perfect word: “grey”. I know that seems strange of an era characterised by Marc Bolan, Bowie and Slade. I started to pick up how serious things were getting last Monday via Twitter. We switched on the TV ...

A skeptical look at stuff. Newer posts →. June 22, 2010. South of the River. I’m just trying to work out the point at which I will be out of pocket because of my saintly desire to work. I made a fundamental mistake. I’m a public sector worker. I have a pre-school child so only work part-time. On the days I work I pay for private nursery day care from 8 till 6, and a nanny to look after the big kid after school as the after-school club doesn’t finish late enough for me. June 16, 2010. South of the River.

Tag:www.chris-nicholson.com,2013:/posts. Tag:www.chris-nicholson.com,2013:Post/633985. I did a music compilation of 2013. I imagine you'll be wanting to ask the following questions. 1) Why's it start with a track from the Doctor Who soundtrack? Because it was a lovely swooshy bit of incidental music, which became extra poignant at the point that Patrick Troughton's digitally created Doctor came running out of the mist and it always makes me emotional for that very reason. 5) Why's it in that order? Watch...
