West Pierce Fire Fighters 911 Tribute Ride. Saturday, September 3, 2011. Well, today was an 0700 start from Coeur d'Alene. Most of the group found that they didn't dress warm enough as the temp was in the low 40's. We are in for over 500 miles today. We then stopped in Bozeman and were met by an engine company and ladder company who escorted us through their town to the next freeway entrance. Thanks to them for making us feel welcome. West Pierce Fire Fighters 911 Tribute Ride. Sunday, September 11, 2011. Tribute Ride from Newburgh to New York City 9/11/2011. The day finally arrived for us to ride to the Fallen Firefighter Memorial in New york City. A brief ceremony was held, and a couple of IAFF dignitaries spoke. When the ceremony was over, we mingled and shook hands. Then it was time to clear the streets so it was bikes going every which way into the city, another "yard sale". September 12, 2011 at 10:30 AM. West Pierce Fire Fighters 911 Tribute Ride. Tuesday, September 13, 2011. September 12, New york. Brooklyn Station 255 Engine, 157 Ladder Tower. Over 100 years old. The spiral stair case was used to prevent the horses from coming upstairs. Memorial in the apparatus room for a member who lost his life on 9/11. This Maltese is made of steel from the twin towers. Memorial on the wall of Engine 10, Ladder 10, this station is at ground zero. Construction of the new buildings at ground zero. Day 5 in the Books.
