The Community Gardener: ROmanesco Broccoli
http://thecommunitygardener.blogspot.com/2009/06/romanesco-broccoli.html
Thoughts on Love, Life, and the Garden. Monday, June 15, 2009. Anyway, if you miss some of the worms, they turn pale green when cooked and the broccoli turns dark green. So they are easy to find. The weather has been great around here for gardening. My peas are about a foot high. The deer have been through, I've seen the muched pea tops. I bought some coyotee scat sprinkles and hope that will do the trick. They guy at the garden pet store said it would. Posted by Flower Power. View my complete profile.

The Community Gardener: Carrots in a Pot
http://thecommunitygardener.blogspot.com/2009/09/carrots-in-pot.html
Thoughts on Love, Life, and the Garden. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Carrots in a Pot. More nutricious. So I wonder how I can contain some of the things in my house, books in bookshelves, plants all in one grouping. Yes, I can get organized, eventually. I know I can. Posted by Flower Power. StarBirdFarm: November 2009
http://starbirdfarm.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
The best fertilizer is the footsteps of the farmer . Wendell Berry. Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Sunday, November 15, 2009. I'm concerned longer term about the availability of Starbird Farm to community gardening as well as the whole global warming thing. A rise in sea level of only one meter would just about wipe out Ebey Island as a farming community. I need to seek higher ground, so to speak. Tuesday, November 3, 2009. StarBirdFarm: We Bought the Farm
http://starbirdfarm.blogspot.com/2010/07/we-bought-farm.html
The best fertilizer is the footsteps of the farmer . Wendell Berry. Thursday, July 22, 2010. We Bought the Farm. I know that phrase has a double meaning but I use it in the best sense. We bought 1 1/2 acres with a house, shop, 'manger,' and 5-car carport in Arlington, WA. That's the address, actually, if you google 'Smokey Point, wa' the pin will come down exactly in the middle of the property, although it is in a neighborhood I would call Lakewood because of the post office location there.

StarBirdFarm: Gardening for self-reliance
http://starbirdfarm.blogspot.com/2010/05/gardening-for-self-reliance.html
The best fertilizer is the footsteps of the farmer . Wendell Berry. Thursday, May 13, 2010. Most people who garden get just a taste of sustainabilty. A few tomato and lettuce plants will not feed a family through out the year. No, feeding oneself from a garden requires a lot more land and a lot more planning and effort. Now, we need to prioritize. Next, ask yourself what you can buy at a good price locally. In my case, that would be potatoes and wheat. There are large potato farms within 100 mile...Secon...
