O ur club is a member of the North Lanarkshire division of the Dog Training Council which is regulated by the Road Safety Department. Road safety tests are held periodically throughout the year and certificates are issued to handlers whose dogs have passed the relevant sections to the satisfaction of the examiner. West Wishaw Dog Training Club. Club News and Events. Basic Dog Training Tips. Halties/harnesses may be used but we wouldn’t recommend them for indoor training. A good starting collar is a 'half check'. No metal leads or flexi/extension leads. These can be dangerous and are impractical for dog training purposes. A flexi lead is suitable when walking a dog in a park or open spaces. Always have your dog on a lead near roads. Eg cheese, pedigree schmackos, puppy treats). Eg a rope or tug, not a ball).

West Wishaw Dog Training Club. Club News and Events. Basic Dog Training Tips. Many of our obedience dogs, love to take part in agility training. This is held on a Wednesday. This sport is usually dominated by Border Collies, but we have a large variety of breeds, many of which are never seen doing agility. We believe that family pets can enjoy agility as much as "the professionals", probably more so as there is no pressure on them to perform. We do this for fun, and to make exercise more exciting.

Dalziel Dog Agility Club. Dalziel Dog Agility Club meet April to August on Wednesday evenings in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. Training Starts at 6.45pm and ends at 9pm. Our dogs love the agility courses and are trained on a lead at the beginning. We also use treats to encourage them through the more difficult elements, such as the weave poles.
