Saturday, May 10, 2014. Bremen - Drenched but not deterred. The weather in Bremen did not agree with our plan to rent bikes and ride off into the countryside. So we switched gears and instead explored Bremen's Altstadt on foot. We ate lunch in a restaurant near Sankt Petri Dom (St. Peter's cathedral). Monday, May 5, 2014. Today the Eggeweg. Tomorrow the Eggeweg,. It's 6:00 am in Barntrup now, but the birds have been singing since about 4:30. Suddenly and passionately, the entire forest sprang to life.and the sun wasn't even up yet! A rooster crowed, a church bell rang, and then every bird for miles around broke into song! Today we plan to hike along the Eggeweg approximately 28 kilometers from the train station in Leopoldstal to a campground near Neuenheerse, about 2 kms off the trail. At least we.

On the way back from Texel we stopped in Den Helder at the maritime museum to check out the decommissioned submarine "The Tuna".
