Room 15 News: June 2016

Friday, 17 June 2016. Students in Room 15 have been using their measurement skills to solve problems involving perimeter and area. We enjoyed a hands-on lesson measuring the boundaries of the school oval, basketball court and undercover area. We discovered that using a trundle wheel may not give us very accurate measurements. With regular shapes it is more accurate to use a calculation. Students then used a formula to calculate the area of regular shapes and composite shapes by breaking them into parts.

Monday, 16 May 2016. Students in Rooms 15 and 26 are completing a poster as part of a project on Antarctica. Some of the research will need to be completed at home, however, the final poster will be completed in class. Click on the picture for the rubric which shows information to be included and the marking scale. The project commenced in Week 2 and is due for completion on Monday, Week 10. Monday, 2 May 2016. Talk Time homework Week 2. Is politics a good thing? Who is responsible for governing our land?

Over the school holidays is a great opportunity to just finalise a few pages and make sure all your information has been printed off. Don't forget colour printing needs to be done at home. Some students may need help to finish the community section of the portfolio, particularly the project about helping in the community. Year 3 Room 19. Wednesday, December 7, 2016. REFLECTING ON YEAR 3, 2016. In 2016 Room 19 enjoyed, Literacy Pro, Numero, the Super Scientist Competition, NAPLAN, Dancing, ICT time, Principal’s Challenges, Family Fun Night and a whole lot more. They made improvements in all learning areas and they made some lasting friendships. Room 19 have written a few sentences about their Year 3 experiences. We hope you enjoy reading them.
