http://ne-iceland.blogspot.com/2008/01/4-hsavk.html
Family Travel in North-East Iceland. Is a small town by the sea with about 2500 inhabitants, about 90 km from Akureyri. It is sometimes called: “The Whale Spotting Capital of The World” as it was the first place in Iceland to offer whale watching cruises. It has also a Whale Museum. Which is ideal for getting better acquainted with the giants of the oceans. It also has a very nice Folks Museum. And easy atmosphere so it is nice just walking around. Travelling Sites - Iceland. With schools of herring and abundant plankton, the freezing waters of the Northern Atlantic have always been prime whale territory. In years past, that meant excellent hunting. And though there’s still a little killing going on, today the most common way to shoot whales in Iceland is with a camera. The tour lasted for three hours, and we must have seen at least...

Iceland, Land of Contradiction. Land where fire and ice co-exist. Thursday, June 26, 2008. Northwest Iceland: Húsavík 14 May. Imagine when u reach a place in total mist the day before and when u woke up the next morning to this breathtaking scenery. This is what I like about Iceland, never fail to surprise and thrill. I am absolutely dumbfounded the instant I open the door of the cottage and am never expect to such a treat. This is Húsavík, the most north on earth I have ever been to. Whale Watching, 10a...
