Support for renewable energy has been consistently high at around 75-80% over the past four years according to the DECC Public Attitudes Tracker Wave 16. This information is from polls done four times a year. The latest survey, done in December 2015, showed 78% support for renewable energy. Spaans Babcock Ltd were responsible for the whole turnkey project comprising the installation of a Screw Generator on the south side of the River Calder at Whalley in Lancashire. The scheme is based on a 3.5m diameter Screw Turbine with a 100 kW power output, which will generate enough power for 85 homes.
