Bodacious Budapest | Informal Trenches
https://informaltrenches.wordpress.com/2010/12/18/bodacious-budapest
Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 18 December, 2010. We found Budapest to be one of the most lively of the European cities we visited; so we enjoyed our three days and nights we had in Hungary’s capital city. Budapest is split down the middle by the wide Danube river. And is made up of three separate cities, Buda, Pest and Óbuda, which officially united into today’s Budapest in 1873. While wandering this historical city we took many photos which can be seen here. In full swing. We bought lun...

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 13 August, 2011. As we had changed our plans earlier in our travels, our originally planned two night stay in Oslo. Was cut down to just one. Luckily, on arrival we didn’t find too much in Norway’s capital city that interested us which was within our budget. We did take a some photos during the few hours we were in the city, which can be seen here. Our first stop was picking up some Norwegian Krone. After lunch, we headed to the old Akershus Fortress. On our wal...

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 27 April, 2011. Our first night in Sweden wasn’t actually in Stockholm. We had no luck getting a room booked in Sweden’s capital city for the first night due to the Stockholm Pride festival, so we opted to stay in Norrköping. In the morning we left Norrköping without seeing much of it, and caught a train to Stockholm. We arrived in Sweden’s capital city around midday, and checked into our hotel. We grabbed some lunch, looked at the outside the Nobel Museum.

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 14 August, 2011. Bergen, in the west of Norway is famous for it’s fjords, and was our final stop on our five week tour of Europe. It was a great way to end a fantastic holiday, it is a picturesque city with scenery that reminded us of home. We stayed for two nights in Bergen. Then one night in Haugesund. Further south, as it was close to the airport we needed to use. During our final few days of our holiday we took many photos which can be seen here. 8211; a set...

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 30 March, 2011. We had a very enjoyable three days in Poland’s second largest city, as it had a variety of things for us to see and do. It’s had a turbulent history, which we saw some evidence of in the places we visited, but the city still retains many old and amazing buildings. As usual, we brought our camera everywhere and took photos, which you can see here. On the drive to the Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II concentration/extermination camps. When the holocaus...

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Sunshine in Sitges and Barcelona. Posted 5 October, 2010. For our last stop in Spain, we had organised to stay with our friend Florenci, who we got to know earlier in the year when we travelled around Sri Lanka. Florenci was nice enough to let us stay at his flat in Sitges for three nights. Here, you can see the photos that we took of Sitges. After touring the centre we wandered in the direction of the pretty, but very busy beach and an historic strip of buildings; cur...

Vivacious Vienna | Informal Trenches

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 1 December, 2010. Vienna had enough museums, churches and other attractions to entertain us for at least a week. Unfortunately for us, we only had two short days to cram in as much as we could. We really enjoyed the time we had in Austria’s capital, and while enjoying it, took many digital photographs which can be seen here. On arrival at the Westbahnhof. Train station from Munich, we caught the U-Bahn. After checking in, we took a walk down to the Donaukanal.

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 11 April, 2011. Copenhagen was our first stop of our tour around Scandinavia. It was a bit of a shock to our wallets compared to the rest of Europe, but then again we found the whole of Scandinavia to be expensive. We found Copenhagen to be a beautiful city with many interesting areas that kept us busy for the three days of our visit. The photos we took of Copenhagen can be seen here. On route to the palace, I was starting to feel unwell as fatigue was creeping ...

Sean’s fantastic recital of events. Posted 20 November, 2010. Our flight from Barcelona to Munich. Via Dusseldorf) arrived on time for a change, and we were soon on the S-Bahn. Our first stop was St. Michael’s Church. A large Renaissance church which was undergoing restoration. We followed that up by entering the towering Frauenkirche cathedral. Which was closing for the day, so we saw very little of the interior. Upon exiting the catherdral, we walked over a couple of streets to Marienplatz. After survi...
