Musings on the Franklin Expedition

Musings on the Franklin Expedition. Tuesday, October 5, 2010. My introduction to the Franklin Mystery was through Dan Simmons' book:. The Man Who Ate His Boots,. He was a large man, and Fairholme is described as very large. However, so was the body found on the ship by Inuit after the abandonment. Fairholme is also thought to be one of the officers who died before the ship's abandonment. Was it an officer, or is it more likely that it was a tough, tested, resolute able seaman? Who went back to the ships?

Musings on the Franklin Expedition: Why the fascination?

http://whathappenedtothefranklinexpedition.blogspot.com/2010/06/why-fascination.html

Musings on the Franklin Expedition. Wednesday, June 23, 2010. So how did 129 men disappear from the what was supposedly the most well equipped naval expedition born of Victorian England? October 22, 2010 at 9:23 AM. To me, the Franklin Expedition is a bit like the Lost Colony of Roanoke or some similar mystery. The deeper It is a bit like watching a train wreck. Morbid curiosity. Especially the idea that some of these men were still surviving up there as late as 1851. You might find the book Dead Silence...

Musings on the Franklin Expedition: Two old dags

http://whathappenedtothefranklinexpedition.blogspot.com/2010/07/two-old-dags.html

Musings on the Franklin Expedition. Thursday, July 29, 2010. The NMM has an overexposed version of Henry Foster Collins in which one can barely make out the man's features. The SPRI holds a beautiful dag of Collins, clear as day! I am not well informed about early photography, although I do find it fascinating. Could someone have fixed this picture of Collins? Was the overexposed shot created from the clear shot? I have so many questions I wish I had answers to! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sunday, July 12, 2015. A great site by a man building a museum quality, 1:48 scale, model of HMS Terror. The site includes excellent plans of HMS Terror as she was in 1845 along with details of the techniques used in creating the model. what happened to the beats?

What happened to the beats? What is ‘what happened to the beats’? Loyle Carner – BFG. What I’m about to write is the opposite of what I have been saying recently about beats matching their bars. I have been praising producers who make beats which capture the mood of their bars, each strengthening the other. Whilst I still maintain that a strong beat which fits the theme of the bars is a recipe for a good tune,. Tune is an example of the complete opposite. Although I have talked a lot about how much I enj...

| What Happened to the Mayans?

What Happened to the Mayans? Read my book, The Cult of the Jaguar, for another idea of how the Mayan civilization came to an end. Will it happen again on December 21? We can only wait and see. Only those standing at a distance could see that the golden pyramid had steps only on one side. Once the tribespeople ascended the steps and reached the top, they would fall to their deaths, for the other sides of the pyramid had no steps, just a straight drop to the ground! They could not see that this was a trap!
