Long time coming . . . | whatimgratefulfor
https://whatimgratefulfor.wordpress.com/2015/05/16/long-time-coming
Writing about the people and things that bring me joy. Long time coming . . . I thought blogging would be easy. After all, I’m an extrovert with tons of stuff to say, and plenty to be grateful for. I forgot that I’m also a prime procrastinator. Silly of me. So, what to write about today? Now I own the DVD. Grateful. When I left Boston I feared I’d left opera behind, but MPBN played an opera on the radio every Saturday, and (too seldom) on TV. Now I can buy DVDs of world class performances, and ...The sin...

Writing about the people and things that bring me joy. A few days ago, as I was crossing the town mall, a young woman ran up to me. “You’re the storyteller! 8221; she said. “I remember you from school.”. I nodded. Smiled. 8220;Could you tell them a story? 8221; she asked, gathering two little girls to her side. They looked hopeful. In other posts, I plan to write about my favorite tales and books of and about tales. One thought on “ Storytelling. September 4, 2014 at 1:23 am. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Showers | whatimgratefulfor

Writing about the people and things that bring me joy. Long time coming . . . →. Pretty simple, eh? Water and soap. But when I think about it, not so simple. First, our life-supporting planet. Just the right gravity, and air, and hydrogen and oxygen combining into water. Heat and cold, and my skin’s ability to sense and enjoy them. Thank you, Nature. So my morning shower connects me with a huge web of people, past and present. With the dreams of inventors and the sweat of laborers. Which makes me think a...

Murder on the Links July 2013. On Jul 29, 2013 0 comments. Some crime-related links I have been gathering! I’m always on the look out for new crime/murder mystery blogs to follow, so please recommend some in the comments. Also can’t help noticing, only 6 of those 50 are women. Hardly representative of the crime genre then or now, really. Maybe I don’t want them after all, no matter how pretty they are…. JK Rowling talks about being Robert Galbraith. This fascinating article looks at the way readers so of...

One of my favourite things in the world is a cozy mystery, especially one with a connection to craft (though any book with an obsessive protagonist is usually my cup of tea). So I was delighted to discover Amanda Lee this week, who writes a series of Embroidery Mysteries featuring a small town full of eccentric characters (tick), set in a craft shop (tick tick! Poison Pen Letters | Livia Day

New Cover for A Trifle Dead! On Jan 26, 2013. I’ll admit I was nervous when I heard there was ‘tweaking’ going on with the cover of my book, because I had just been showing it off to everyone I met at Genrecon and hearing so much positive feedback about how it worked for crime and mainstream readers (and even the occasional SF reader) – the thought of changing it was alarming! But of course I should have trusted the amazing Amanda Rainey, who added a. Livia’s Poison Pen. On Nov 6, 2012.

Posts Tagged author author. Livia’s Poison Pen. On Nov 6, 2012. A new week and a new website! For those of you just finding me, I write far more frequently under my other (less poisonous) pen name over at Stitching Words, but that is a fairly Livia-lite kind of blog, and after a fun and brain-expanding weekend at Genrecon, it was pretty clear that Livia needed her own bright shiny red internet home. Yes, it had to be red. Other discoveries this past weekend included the generosity and warmth of.
