What Kate-Em did next.

Thursday, 23 July 2015. Spring suit from 1938 - free pattern. As I said in my previous post, at the local junk market I picked up a couple of magazines from 1938. They are typical women's magazines from the period: fashion, recipes, short stories, advice, beauty, sewing and knitting. Both copies have lovely knitting patterns in so I thought that it would be good to share them. This is the second pattern from March 1938. Monday, 20 July 2015. Spring cardigan from 1938 - free pattern. There is a knitting p...

What Kate-Em did next.: February 2015

http://whatkate-emdidnext.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, 21 February 2015. And I realised - snood day! The perfect solution to a less than perfect hair day! I intend to learn to crochet so that I can make my own snoods but to tide me over until that day I have a couple that I bought from a seller on Ebay. This one is emerald green. Please excuse the not great photo quality, they are all taken on my camera phone as I didn't have my camera to hand. So, snoods - the way forward for those who want those extra precious minutes asleep! My parents and my si...

Friday, 14 November 2014. A couple of weeks ago at knitting club my lovely friend rummaged in her knitting bag and produced this leaflet for me. It was such a great find on her part and kind of her to give it to me. It is a concertina folded leaflet showing a range of Grafton fashion fabrics, made up in the styles of the day. Grafton Somakan - a 'soft, gleaming acetate rayon that. Looks and feels like fine silk crepe'. Grafton Range 3 - 'gay separates for leisure wear,. With the emphasis on leisure!

Monday, 30 June 2014. Seven snaps for seven days - twenty six. Discussing books and making peg dolls at book group this week. My Women's Institute group is decorating a couple of trees with peg dolls as part of the local arts festival. Decorations for the Tour De Yorkshire are popping up all over the place! The results of a 'can you find me a .' game that my friend and I played with her toddler in the park. She zoomed here and there on her scooter to find these things whilst we got to chat! A while ago s...

What Kate-Em did next.: A tale from a travelling hat

http://whatkate-emdidnext.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-tale-from-travelling-hat.html

Monday, 18 May 2015. A tale from a travelling hat. Last month I had a very special weekend away at The Petwood Hotel. In Lincolnshire. I went with my family and our family friends. It was special as a baby was born in each family in 2013 and this was the first time all of the three generations would get to meet up. It was fabulous to see everyone and have the babies meet each other. We enjoyed ourselves so much! Fabulous travelling hat. If you have not seen this before get over to Tanith's fantastic ...

I suspect, however, that he's been watching too much IT Crowd! Sowhere do I start? Well, firstly I have to thank Sue for inspiring me to do this! The first one to talk about is the WI Rag Market!

Handmade in Hebden Bridge' - Betty FiddleFaddle's blogspot! Thursday, 8 March 2012. Spring is in the air! I don't know where the past couple of months went, but. They disappeared pretty fast! I originally intended to post at least once a month, but life being what it is, somehow I seem to have lapsed - and it didn't take me long! After reading some of my friends and fellow WI members' blogs I feel I have been shamed into trying again! After all - it will save me from the horror that is 'Daytime TV'!

Handmade in Hebden Bridge' - Betty FiddleFaddle's blogspot! Wednesday, 9 November 2011. Rag Hags market success! Last Sunday saw the Hebden Bridge WI Rag Market in full swing! As members of the textiles group we arrived early along with fellow WI members to set up the stalls, cut the cake and deck the hall with colourful handmade bunting. When the doors opened at 11 o'clock a queue had already formed and were chomping at the bit ( wrong analogy for makers, knitters and sewers I know.sorry! I am now busy ...

Sewing a Vintage Inspired Wardrobe. A Little Bit About Me. July 5, 2016. July 5, 2016. Apologies for the radio silence lately – I’ve been busy sewing (as you can see on my Instagram. Page) but I’ve had very little time to blog about my makes! However, sometimes the stars align and you make a garment that you want to show the world – THIS is that dress! I snapped up two metres and knew that it was destined to be my party dress for my birthday celebrations that are this week. I then thought about the skirt...

What Kat Did

I have been involved in a small migration project over the last couple of months and will be sharing my notes. In all fairness most of this comes from Microsoft guides which are pretty good and comprehensive. What I’ll be sharing is a rather condensed version so you might want to read through the original articles before undertaking your own migrations. First up is the network policy server migration which is very straight forward. Preparing the source server:. Gather information for the table above.

Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Content Marketing for a Digital Era. Traditional marketers have long championed the idea that content is king, and for most, it seems logical that if you create relevant and valuable content, you are better positioned to engage customers and increase leads. But how has this concept changed in a digital world which moves and churns out information at a pace that no one could have ever conceived? 8220;It’s about having that unique content” says Mail Online's deputy pub...Digital a...

Thursday, May 27, 2010. For those of you who know me well, you’re probably thinking, “What? Baby crazed mommy wanna-be Kate, who enjoys, baking, sewing, laundry and canoodling children, how could you be domestically challenged? Are place settings and new furniture shopping the end of the world as I know it? In many ways, they are. Is it the end of the world though? Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Test taking skills v.s.
