But consistently produced amazing work. It's no surprise that Late Night Trains. And Love Under Will. On Sister Faith sound like long lost Jawbox songs, those ringing guitars and dynamics have Robbins written all over them. The aforementioned Late Night Trains. Make no mistake, there is not a weak track on this album. Which is a bac...

Metal Only. No Rubbish.: October 2012
http://no-rubbish.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 12, 2012. Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm in the wilds of Indonesia but there should be a rash of comment coming when I return home (new Godspeed! 2 Do I go classic guitar (Hendrix, Clapton, Page) or do I go by pioneers of genre (say your Tom Verlaine's of the world)? Genre seems much more interesting and I could throw in some old blues shit too but my guitar education was the classics until I found my own sounds and interests. Also, genre trips on problem number 1, it's written in...

Metal Only. No Rubbish.: March 2013
http://no-rubbish.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 10, 2013. Bob Mould Live in Sydney 9/3/13 and 10/3/13. As soon as the first chords of The Act We Act echoed through the Factory, the entire audience was smitten. From where I was standing, there seemed to be a level of disbelief that the album that so many of us adore was being played live, in front of our eyes, like right now! And the dancing was a bit embarrassing but the band fed off the crowd's energy and were having a ball. The Act We Act. Round the City Square. Could You Be The One?

Metal Only. No Rubbish.: But there's this...
http://no-rubbish.blogspot.com/2014/02/but-theres-this.html
Tuesday, February 4, 2014. For the sparkly part of my twenties, Odelay was a constant companion soundtrack. As I got older, I moved onto Se Change which I still adore. Apart from that Beck does little for me but I love, love this song. It's just plainly gorgeous, there's no other word for it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://no-rubbish.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 28, 2013. Tell me how to feel. I'm not really sure how I feel about these three things. I definitely enjoy them but I wonder what they mean in terms of the legacy of these three bands (if that even matters). I'll ponder this some more but in the meantime, have fun. Sunday, June 23, 2013. On Kanye West's Yeezus. The last week I've been reading a lot about Yeezus. Would you doubt yourself or believe the hype? I'm not sure if this album will stand the test of time but at the moment I'm enjoying...
