Adventures in the world of crafting...
I really shouldn’t, but I probably will | what kt made next
https://whatktmadenext.wordpress.com/2012/01/13/i-really-shouldnt-but-i-probably-will
What kt made next. Adventures in the world of crafting…. I really shouldn’t, but I probably will. I’ve gone and made a test snowflake hexagon and because that clearly isn’t enough, I made a puffy flower! It was just to try them out to see that they’re way too tricky and that I’d be daft to do either. There was some head scratching and pouring over a crochet stitch reference what with it written in US stitches and me only having done trebles for the last year, but I got there in the end. What kt made next. Adventures in the world of crafting…. 52 weeks of happy: 1/52. I came across 52 Weeks of Happy. So this week, four things that made me happy were:. Cocktails on New Year’s Eve. So green. So good. Replacing a missing shelf in one of the kitchen cupboards. The supports were there, but the shelf wasn’t for whatever reason. I’m ridiculously happy about the new shelf – I think there was jumping up and down, clapping and possibly excited squealing when it went in! 52 weeks of happy: 2/52.

tallgrass prairie studio: My Heart is Filled with Joy
http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-heart-is-filled-with-joy.html
Teaching/Speaking Schedule 2016 - 2017. 2016 - 2018 Class Offerings. Sunday, January 18, 2009. My Heart is Filled with Joy. Got a lot of requests to explain how I made this block. So, in the spirit of doing things for others today, here is the 'Be still my heart' block tutorial, just in time for some Valentine's Day crafting. I used this block to make the quilt in the picture above as well as a pink version. Step 2: With right sides together sew strips together using a 1/4" seam allowance. I like to sew ...

Summer at Grandma's House: Circles!
http://summeratgrandmashouse.blogspot.com/2009/07/circles.html
My Favorite Quilting Tutorials. Thursday, July 2, 2009. For Snip.Sew.Send. this month, Chen (aka Mushyhed. Sent some awesome fabrics and I knew I wanted to do a block with circles. I've done raw edge appliques and appliques with a satin stitch. But for this, I really wanted to do circles that have the soft edge without the stitching showing. I tried the "jiffy-pop" method. I guess that was my blond moment of the day. :). And it worked really well for the smallest circles I needed to do. Cut a piece of fu...
TWISTED QUILTS : Paper piecing
http://truebluenana.blogspot.com/2012/02/paper-piecing.html
Traditional quilts with a twist. Sunday, February 19, 2012. It is a nasty day in ENC. Snow is predicted to the north and west of us. We are on the snow rain line, lots of cold rain. A good day to stay in and sew! I finished the placemats for my daughter in law. I was really pleased with the way they turned out. I was really taken by this quilt. I followed a couple of videos and this is my first two attempts at paper piecing. I would love to make that quilt! A good time was had by all! I spent Friday clea...

Making Ends Meet: Cathedral Window Tutorial
http://april-makingendsmeet.blogspot.com/2008/07/cathedral-window-tutorial.html
Hello Moon Quilt Along. Sunday, July 27, 2008. Many have asked for it, so here it is - the Cathedral Window Tutorial. I hope the instructions make sense, and that you enjoy making this blanket as much as I did. My advice.start small. Try a doll quilt or baby quilt before you get yourself in too deep. I would also say that as you increase the size of the quilt, increase the size of your squares. With right sides together, fold the square in half and sew ¼ inch seem along each end. Now you are ready for a ...
Dining Room Empire: Squaring Up a Quilt - Tutorial
http://naptimequilter.blogspot.com/2008/11/squaring-up-quilt-tutorial.html
04 November, 2008. Squaring Up a Quilt - Tutorial. Okay, time to 'fess up. How many of you go through the process of squaring up your quilts? I'll admit that I didn't think about it for the longest time. All the methods I had seen seemed like they required a ridiculous amount of floor space and the ability to block the quilt, like you would a new knit. Here's how I do it. 1 Set your machine to a zig zag stitch that is small in width but long in stitch length. Stitch around the entire perimeter of you...

Summer at Grandma's House: Pieced Flower Tutorial
http://summeratgrandmashouse.blogspot.com/2009/11/pieced-flower-tutorial.html
My Favorite Quilting Tutorials. Saturday, November 7, 2009. As requested, here's a tutorial on how I made the pieced log cabin style flowers. I posted a few weeks ago. First, I'd like to credit where I got the idea. Byneedleandthread made this awesome block for a quilting bee and I was completely taken by it. She mentioned that she did it like a log cabin, so I just tried it out and it worked really well for me. Aren't these trees so cool? Pink Trees 2 for Shanna - June. TWISTED QUILTS : Found
http://truebluenana.blogspot.com/2012/02/found.html
Traditional quilts with a twist. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. My mother loved what she called the Dutch Doll pattern. She made myself and each one of her 3 granddaughters a quilt using this pattern. I found squares she had completed but never made into a quilt. I also found parts to make more Dutch Dolls. When and/or if I have a granddaughter I can use these squares to make her a beautiful quilt that was started by her great grandmother. Now this I want you to see! And believe it or not I found more tri...

Monthly Make – March. A Very Royal Occasion →. Monthly Make – April. May 22, 2011. This baby quilt project had been hanging around since well before Christmas, but it was April before I finally managed to get it finished. I was So Pleased with the results (especially as it had been a trial to make – involving lots of unpicking and use of sweary words! It is a gift, from my my mum to her friends son and daughter-in-law, as they are expecting their first baby. I do hope they like it. And tagged monthly make.

Every Quilt I've Ever Made. Saturday, December 31, 2016. Year in Review and Planning for 2017. I have this problem about not blogging in November and December every year! I think that the issue is that I am busy making gifts and I don't want to post them online for the recipient to see, as well as being busy with the whole holiday season. Anyway, now I am back and ready to make some quilty goals for 2017, but first let's see how I did with last year's goals. 1 Go see my two quilts hanging at Quiltcon (!

What kt made next. Adventures in the world of crafting…. I can’t believe it’s February already! That means it’s time to see how I did with my January goals. Turns out I actually got a few things done, which kinda surprised me…. Paint my craft room (the new house comes complete with room for a craft room (woop, woop and woop again! But it’s currently a kind of manky green colour which needs to go before I fill it with my junk craft stuff). Organise and photoshop my New Year’s Eve photos. Snow days. It...
What KT Reads
Wednesday, April 21, 2010. I'm sure this won't come as a surprise to anyone (if anyone is still even reading), but I've decided to discontinue this blog. I left it hanging for so long thinking that I would want to start reviewing again, but the truth is that reviewing was starting to make reading less fun, and that pretty much defeats the purpose, right? I think for now, I'll leave the reviews up, but it's possible that in the future I'll go ahead and delete the blog as well. I do have a goodreads. The w...

What I Like About You. This page is a good place for me to tell those whom I like just why I like them. I will eventually spotlight all those that I like, so keep checking back to see. Saturday, July 24, 2010. It's been almost 2 years since I last blogged on this thing so let me get things rolling again. Katey is my dearest friend. Here are 10 things I like about her. I like that we went to high school together, but probably never even spoke directly to each other. I like that we work together at the bank.
