Ultimate Healthy Banana Bread Recipe | What Would Cathy Eat?
http://www.whatwouldcathyeat.com/2010/03/banana-bread/optimized-img_6997-2
Jan 26, 2015. Ultimate healthy banana bread. Here’s an update of a post from 2010 I wanted to share it again because I’ve improved on the recipe (but not the slightly crappy old photo, sadly! I’ve reduced the amount of sugar a bit, and switched to coconut sugar. I also used a mix of walnuts and pecans this time, and added some orange juice. The changes made a nice difference. Two tips: Don’t use anything but extremely ripe bananas here (black skin! Ultimate Healthy Banana Bread. 1 tsp baking soda. See mo...

Scrambled Tofu with Za'atar | What Would Cathy Eat?
http://www.whatwouldcathyeat.com/2015/06/scrambled-tofu-with-zaatar
Jun 7, 2015. Scrambled tofu with za’atar. I was never much of a tofu eater I know all about the health concerns surrounding soy but since I’ve gone vegan (OK, 99% vegan), I’ve let it sneak back into my diet once a week. Now, instead of our old Sunday morning egg ritual, we now have scrambled tofu. I figure eating tofu once a week can’t be too harmful and I’ve really grown to love this dish. You can buy Za’atar at Whole Foods and elsewhere, but you can also make your own. Scrambled Tofu with Za’atar.
Date Walnut Bread Recipe Made Healthy | What Would Cathy Eat?
http://www.whatwouldcathyeat.com/2011/05/whole-grain-date-walnut-bread
May 9, 2011. Whole-grain date walnut bread. An old fashioned recipe for date walnut bread caught my eye recently. It’s the kind of thing your great grandmother would have baked. If she did, she probably baked it in Campbell’s Soup cans. Yep, that’s the way it used to be done. Why? I haven’t the foggiest idea but it made this bread even more intriguing to me. I also liked the fact that you soak the dates and then use the soaking liquid as part of the batter. Whole Grain Date Walnut Bread. 1 1/2 cups whole...

Adhi Potoba: Butternut Squash Ravioli with Butter Sage Sauce
http://potoba.blogspot.com/2010/12/butternut-squash-ravioli-with-butter.html
Friday, December 10, 2010. Butternut Squash Ravioli with Butter Sage Sauce. Of said wheat was followed by systematic distribution. And then those lowest on the totem pole, such as myself, had the privilege of taking it to the flourmill to grind. One can’t help but be intrigued by a flourmill. While living in India, I had only seen wheat flour being used for chapatti and occasionally pooris. 2 cups Chapati Ata (Durum Wheat flour). Tepid Water to knead the dough. 15 Tbsp. of Sage. 1 tbsp of Olive Oil.

Catch A Falling (Anise) Star: 84 High Street Cafe
http://catchafallinganisestar.blogspot.com/2011/07/84-high-street-cafe.html
Catch A Falling (Anise) Star. It can never hurt you to cook well" - Lynette E. Gardner. Monday, July 18, 2011. 84 High Street Cafe. The first time Judy and I ever ventured into 84 High Street Cafe. In downtown Westerly several years ago, we wanted to have a "celebratory" dinner. What we were celebrating, and who recommended the place, I have quite forgotten (a friend of Judy's, I think? We left the island, not seeing anything that appealed to us, drove to Narragansett and were given directions to a seafo...

Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Wicked Awesome Hat Wednesday. This weeks Wicked Awesome Hat is from Major League Baseball in the late 70's an era where Reggie Jackson wore killer sweet brown sunglasses, Oscar Gamble's afro reigned supreme, most players were on cocaine, greenies, or completely liquored up, and they even experimented with a neon orange baseball. If you rock this hat with yellow hip waders on, with a flannel underneath, and throw in an eye patch for good measure people will not mess with you.

Jul 6, 2015. Vegan sour cherry pie with almond-oat crumble. I broke from tradition a bit this year by doing a crumb top crust. This recipe is adapted from from Melissa Murphy’s excellent The Sweet Melissa Baking Book. Although I found it on Smitten Kitchen. I made a few small changes:. More cherries – the amount specified did not seem like enough. A different bottom crust and slighly-adapted almond crumb topping, to veganize. Slightly less sugar in the topping. For the bottom crust:. 1/3 cup brown sugar.

What Would Cheeses Do?
What Would Cheeses Do? Culinary Adventures with Maggie and Suzanne. Where cheesiness is next to godliness. Thursday, January 27, 2011. We tried a lot of new cookie recipes and then invited people over to try them. It was a BYOT (bring your own tin) party, and people really seemed to like it. We had originally meant to make fourteen types of cookies, but the last cookie wouldn't stay together, so later I baked it as granola, and it was pretty tasty that way. 1 Chocolate Chip Cookies. 6 World Peace Cookies.
