Saturday, December 27, 2008. BG Elves Deck Performance Analysis. In preparation for the Gold Rush later today (because it's past midnight already hehe), I decided to compile the results of all my sanctioned tournaments in the past couple of months, when playing the BG Elves deck archetype. Here are the results:. Mono Red - Won 8, Lost 5 - 62%. Elves/Rock - Won 6, Lost 6 - 50%. White Weenie - Won 3, Lost 7, Draw 1 - 27%. Random Deck - Won 5, Lost 3, Draw 1 - 56%. Saturday, September 27, 2008. Shards of Alara Prerelease - Sep 27, 2008. I played the Shards of Alara Prerelease at Mike Ongkeco's newly opened card shop. At University Mall beside De La Salle University at Taft Avenue. Apparently, sometimes, thinking positive works, as I was praying and hoping to get a chase rare in my sealed deck card pool. and when I opened my tournament pack and booster packs, I got surprised that I got one of these:. There was then no question that I would be playing RG. :). I drew ...

Sunday, October 18, 2009. It hit me when I received my MPR last week - a Sign in Blood, and a Negate. What? I guess this is it. See you around. My Magic activities would be limited to reading the official site for now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Theros Block Preparations Part 2. Temporary publishing this article on this blog as the main site is under maintenance.* This is a one week delayed update from Thero Block Constructed . Thursday, May 7, 2009. Alara Reborn Prerelease - May 3, 2009. Due to Customs issues, the Alara Reborn Prerelease here in Manila was delayed by a week. We were all still up for it though, so Joven and I went to our local store on the day of the Pacquiao-Hatton fight, to feed our MTG addiction. My card pool was weak in all 5 shards, and had very little mana fixing to splash any of my "bombs" on other shards. I ended up playing an RG-heavy Naya deck:. 1 [ALA] Elvish Visionary. 1 [ALA] Sigiled Paladin. 2 Pla...

Monday, January 26, 2009. Pauper Magic @ MTGO. In a nutshell, Pauper Magic is "commons-only" Magic. That means no mythic rares, no regular rares, not even uncommons. Just your plain old commons - the ones you never use and just rot inside your card boxes, or wherever it is that you store your Magic cards. That's less than 150 pesos! Here's the deck that I built:. 4 [10E] Cloud Sprite. 4 [LRW] Spellstutter Sprite. 4 [SHM] Briarberry Cohort. 4 [MOR] Dewdrop Spy. 3 [MOR] Latchkey Faerie. 4 [10E] Remove Soul.

Friday, April 10, 2009. WNM - Apr 8, 2009. Yes, you read that right - WNM - Wednesday Night Magic. Our local store was closed from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, so the usual FNM became a WNM. I used the same Blightning deck that won the FNM last week. Completing the Ram-Gangs to 4, reducing the Remains to 3 - hoping for the best that I, at least, get to win some more packs this week. Round 1: Jund Land D (won). Round 2: RW Reveillark (lost). Round 3: Jund Tokens/Ramp (lost). Final game standing: 4-5.

Sunday, July 27, 2008. Regular Standard Tournament - Jul 26, 2008. There were three scheduled tournaments yesterday - Standard, LOR-SHM Block, and Legacy. I originally planned on joining the Block tourney (I even met up with someone to buy cards for my deck), for fear of facing the many practicing Nationals players (this year's Nats format is Standard). Unfortunately, when I signed up at NG Galleria, there were only 2 players signed-in for Block! Another tournament, another "oh well". 22 [SHM] Forest - 0...
