This is Like You're Almost Glad to be Handicapped. The wheelchair rental room. Picked up my rental wheelchair from Johnson Medical Supply. In Berkeley. Just $48 for one week. Not too bad. When I got there, the woman behind the counter directed me to the "rental room.". The guy asked me, "Are you having surgery? No, I am participating in a fundraiser, and as part of it, I'll be using the chair for a day.". He couldn't have been less impressed. You can only rent for a month.". Whatever dude, work with me.

Even in a Wheelchair? North Berkeley BART elevator located across the parking lot and away from the BART entrance. Over the past month, I have been thinking a lot about what it will take to use a wheelchair for a full day. One of the challenges I'll have to address is taking BART to work. I've never thought much about what it would take to get from the BART parking lot down to the BART platform in a wheelchair. Two separate answers to those questions. One simple. One not so much.
